Why do you think that ?

They have never been given a slot on Britains Got Talent or X-Factor, and have just been snubbed from that Red or Black show (even though JLS, Il Divo and Jessie J all have slots). Even when there's been a dead week for guest performers and The Sats are available, he's booked someone else. He had The Wanted on after one single last year! You'd think the UK's biggest (only, I know) girl group would get to promote on the UK's biggest talent show but clearly not. They've been around for three years now and have been highly supportive of the X-Factor and it's contestants in the past, plus Rochelle is dating Marvin from JLS and they've done Xtra Factor but never been allowed on the main show.

Louis Walsh said last year, I think, that The Saturdays are irrelevant or aren't the type of act they want to perform on the show which I thought was hilarious considering they've had Westlife on every year and Take That got two performances of the same song last year.

That doesnt really prove anything, your just clutching at straws. Many acts havent been on BGT or X-Factor. I hardly think he is persoanlly rejecting them.

JLS, Il Divo and Jesse J are biggest acts than The Sats so obv they will get a place on the show over them. And louis walsh is clueless anyway.

It's refreshing to see someone care so much ... I don't know about anyone else, but for people like Nero, Wretch 32 and Cher it all seemed so trivial to them.

They're the first people I've seen in ages who actually seem to be happy with the number 1, the rest are all just like 'oh, number 1. OK'

I do think that The Saturdays will get an X Factor performance this year. I think it is due.

Leona #7 & #5 (EP) I'm actually happy with that, for a song which isnt top 50 on radio and has one week radio play, i'm just happy with a top 10 placing. :D I think it'll continue to climb too.

I would much rather Saturdays #1 over Pixie, AFU is so much better then AAT. All seem like nice girls though. :)

Yesss! I'd say he wanted to show that you don't need all these gimmicks/ dances for an artist. He proved himself wrong.

And I agree with the person who said Simon Cowell doesn't like the Saturdays :P

Well, Example seems pleased when he gets #1s, although sometimes it comes across in the wrong way.

And then there's artists like Wretch 32 and Nero who I think do care, but a lot of their fanbases don't want them to care, if you know what I mean, so they pretend not to be too happy about it. If they were acting like The Saturdays, their fans would get annoyed.

I remember Adele saying on the radio once though, that she met Bruno Mars, so she talked to him about how Grenade beat Rolling in the Deep to #1, and she said Bruno was just like "Oh, really?". But I think International artists would care less about #1s than UK artists. They're aiming for #1s on Billboard.

About The Wanted performing on the X Factor after only two hits, and The Saturdays not, I think the main reason The Wanted got to perform on the X Factor like that was because their manager is friends with Louis Walsh. They used to work together I believe.

I dont think they are big enough

Happy for The Sats, well deserve number 1 for them I hope and I hope it holds up through out the week.

Talent is subjective, as is music taste and who you call a 'big act'. I wouldn't call JLS of 3 years ago a 'big' act - yet they've had slots in X Factor from the word go and The Saturdays didn't ... It IS curious, especially as the girls had numerous duets(read interactions) with the guys on other shows.

And I do remember Simon and Louis having constant digs at the girls in the live XF shows, some of them really uncalled for.

Now I'm not a Saturdays fan but when you are the creator of monstrosities like the duo Cowell& Walsh created to 'bless' the music industry I don't know if I would be so arrogant as to dismiss a rather good pop act like The Saturdays.

well, look at that, Saturdays number 1 :P I wasn't expecting that admittedly, y'see, I would be OK with the Sats getting a number 1, but I don't get the fuss with AFU, I wish it would've been a better song :(

Snow Patrol at 28 - blatantly not going top 10 then :( I was genuinely hoping for another guitar band to go top 10, I can only hope it scrapes top 20 now

I dont think they are big enough

You can't be serious? They're looking likely to get their first #1 this week, they've already had 9 top 10 hits and 3 top 10 albums. The Wanted performed on The X Factor last year after 2 singles, I think The Saturdays deserve a slot on the biggest show in the country.

Lady Gaga was crying when she got #1 in the UK with Just Dance

As someone has already said, The Wanted got a slot last year after, what...one single?

I doubt Saturdays would get an X Factor slot, they're not huge, but that said, The Wanted were on performing Lose My Mind :o

Turning Tables  #53

Footprints in the Sand  #65

Run  #147

You can't be serious? They're looking likely to get their first #1 this week

Unfortuently I don't think that will happen.

The Saturdays SHOULD TECHNICALLY be bigger than The Wanted...

That's because JLS are from the X Factor! The show is obviously going to favour it's own produced artists. Not to mention, the X Factor viewership would be interested to see past contestents perform, since they watched them in the previous years.

I do like The Saturdays, and want them to be #1, but I can understand why they haven't performed on the X Factor before. Especially when they can get people like Britney Spears, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry to perform.

As someone has already said, The Wanted got a slot last year after, what...one single?

If I remember correctly that was to get Capital (who The Wanted have connections with) to play Joe McElderry's songs wasn't it? I seem to remember them blanking ambitions and then after The Wanted performed they started playing Somebody Wake Me Up.
