Whilst it's going to be a battle between Pixie Lott and The Saturdays for #1 this week, I still think that by this time next week they both end up being outsold by Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera.

Next week sees the release of One Direction iirc, so the race to no. 1 next week will no doubt be quite clear from the offset.

Can anyone else see Pixie trailing off during the week? I can't see her maintaining it and haven't her previous singles fallen as the week progresses? I'm sure someone said they had.

Rooting for The Sats! Hopefully their physical bundles will boost them. They have the better song and deserve this much more than bloody Pixie.

Why do they deserve it more?

Maroon 5 are going to be exceptionally unlucky at this point, they've already had three weeks in the top 3 and they could quite easily have two more assuming Kasabian or Coldplay don't beat them to #2 next week.

right, so we can rule The Saturdays out now without a doubt, they wont come close.

Between Pixie and M5, I still think m5 will do it though

I hope Pixie can hold on, I prefer seeing UK acts at the top but she needs to promote everywhere this week.

I really wouldn't rule out The Saturdays just yet, maybe after the midweek tomorrow - their physicals will be very strong.

If they decrease on iTunes later though, then yeah, but they could still catch Pixie - they're promoting all day today.

What's strong? 4,000 copies?

True i think i vaguely remember Ego being #1 on physicals whilst it charted at #9 or something in the chart

Coldplay have another new song? Anyhow I can't see it doing any better than ETIAW did so lower top 10 at best. Kasabian will do no better than Snow Patrol are doing now. Maroon 5 will just be #2 again next week and #3 the following week behind Dappy and One Direction. I think their sales will be starting to fall quite significantly by then though but 6 or 7 weeks in the top 3 is manageable.

I can't see Maroon 5 ever getting no.1. But outlasting every other top 3 single for about a month is pretty good going.

Strong err... no... its only available through their website.

I think Pixie and the Saturdays will trail off midweek and Maroon 5 will take advantage, Maroon 5 sales have increased on week, see sales thread topic.

Well if it's 4,000 copies between Pixie and The Sats, then yes, I'd say that's strong.

But yeah, I'm doubting them getting #1. I can see Pixie trailing off during the week too.

I'd have thought Kasabian will do much better than Snow Patrol, it won't go top 3 but I wouldn't be surprised if it went top 10, I'd say they're considerably bigger.

They're less than 6% behind Pixie and have 4 versions in the top 500, plus strong physicals. Promotion throughout the week too. Even if they don't manage it, they will most certainly come close.

Example has re-overtaken Olly Murs. I'm really hoping he can at the very least stay at #5, if not #4 - as it's by far the best #1 of the year for me it having the biggest drop from #1 would be a very unwanted record :P

As #1s go I find Stay Awake really nothingy, Changed The Way You Kiss Me deserved it, it has a hook, but there's nothing about SA at all :(

Speaking of nothingy, please don't let Pixie be number 1 this week, I'm team Marooina, but I guess the ship sailed on that one

Another #2 for The Sats ?

Damn I'm starting to feel sorry for them. They were tweeting about how happy they were last night
