Worst number one in recent years for me has to be the club is alive by JLS in my opinion. Terrible sampling and masses of unnecessary autotune. A few months ago, The Time by the black eyed peas would have been considered although I've grown to tolerate the song.

The Club Is Alive was ok when it was released, now I just cannot tolerate any songs by JLS....

 

Don't Wanna Go Home and She Makes Me Wanna also qualifies as one of the worst #1s ever...

I recommend Space Cowboy's remix to All Fired Up to people, it's a total rave.

You can dislike the song as much as you like but I'd suggest you tone down some of the extreme comments because it's obvious that they're grating on some people. And by name dropping me earlier it was almost as good as baiting, particularly as I am not the only one who often expresses their like for the song.

 

And as for the backing up: an opinion is usually only valid if backed up with reason. 'I can say what I like cos it's my opinion' is a complete myth. If I said it was my opinion that mankind can breathe air on the moon I'd be incorrect because there is no evidence this is true. I'll give you that opinions on music arent that extreme but people may get less annoyed if you just stated why you don't like the song other than 'it's Maroon 5' which isn't quite so valid.

 

Also as much right as you have to dislike a song, you do bring this up a lot. With a lot of posters, you never know which songs they dislike because they'll have mentioned it once at the most.

 

Sorry about the rant. By all means ignore me and carry on. Just don't bring my name into it the next time you rub someone up the wrong way.

 

You're just the person that I've noticed mentioning Maroon 5 the most, which was why I said your name. I have nothing personal aginst you. I was just making a point that it's somehow viewed as more 'acceptable' for someone to constantly say positive things than negative things.

 

As for the bolded paragraph, all I can say is "what the f***?" Why do I have to explain why I dislike the song for it to be 'valid'? I hear the song, I don't enjoy it, therefore I don't want it to be #1. Is that really that hard to accept? Surely it's the same but the opposite for you? And saying you can breathe on the moon is not an opinion, it's just wrong. You can't be 'wrong' about saying a song is good or bad.

 

Also, I don't 'bring it up' ever. Other people bring it up and I add to the conversation. Apparently people have no problem with positive comments regardless of how many times that person has already given it a positive comment, but when it's someone who's said something negative a load before, it's suddenly a crime... :P

 

Anyway I shall try to not mention the song again, because I'm getting pretty sick of this argument now. Can we all just be friends again? :kink:
