I love how every time an artist releases new music or when future music is on the horizon everyone says " Xfactor performance " although I do agree Coldplay deserve another fantastic campaign... it would be better if they got a Itv show dedicated to them with all their songs though.

Understandable seeing as the xfactor is the best promotion u can get in the UK (IMO)... ya can see the effect that it has had on artists over the years (beyonce, alicia keys, blackeyed peas, adele... and no, im not saying xfactor has played the only part in these successes!)

I always find it quite amusing that there are people that see performing on the xfactor as (almost) cheating! not many artists out there that wouldnt wanna do the xfactor! its all promotion, its just that xfactor promotion seems to be one of the most effective! :-)

I remember two years ago Tulsia & Dappy were slagging Xfactor...

People critisize x factor because its a fast track to fame without working hard. There are so many people that work tirelessly to break the music industry and fail and then a chav can become a 'hero' because gary barlow/ simon cowell said 'But I like you, I think we've found a star ;) '. its completely understandable, I like it as a TV show, but is it fair on the music industry? No, not at all.

I remember that... then the next thing ya see is N-Dubz on the xtra factor... and now!!! how times change!!! :-)

I know thats why people criticize the xfactor (rightly or wrongly, depending on your opinions)... i was talking about xfactor as a promo tool for established acts :-)

But talent shows in general aren't. Kelly Clarkson etc all came out of talent shows. The only difference is X Factor is bigger than any talent show that's ever been seen so it's grip on the industry is far bigger. I do think the quicker it ends, the better, but at the same time, it will only be replaced by The Voice or something similar the second it ends anyway.

Oh Nom I agree, I was just using x factor as an example.

These people (Who I cant decide have either: Exhausted all options and failed, are lazy, greedy, or all three), are thrown into being some of the most well known people in the UK, then once its over, they dissappear. The more successful people have A number one hit with sales of 70,000 then spend 5 weeks in the top 40, the others just disappear for ever.

It just annoys me.

Yeah. I remember that! They were whining about how the Black Eyed Peas (and 3 other X Factor sogns) beat them to #1 thanks to X Factor...on the actual show itself. Although the BEPs would've sold more than them and been #1 without it anyway.

Funny that they'll probably (hopefully) perform on it this year aswell.

I don't think they are performing, apparently they did have a slot but Tulisa 'stole' it for her solo single (which she tweeted she's recorded now).

See I think if you have tried everything and have still failed then it's OK to try out but then you get people like that Janet girl who sang Your Song and she only went on it because she's lazy and she knows she could never be a "proper" popstar, because she's average. But yes in summary: I strongly agree with you!

Oh. :( I was hoping they'd perform Number 1. Hopefully Tulisa's song will be good.

That would be nice, but unfortunately I can't see them doing that as I don't think Coldplay aren't the type of band the X Factor audience are interested in. Most 16 year olds will think of Coldplay as uncool, and depressing.

Coldplay nearly top 10 :D Although percentage wise they're still a bit off - I'm sure they'll get there though. Unless it's one of those annoying stall-at-11 type songs...

In a way though I don't want it to go top 10 as it'd knock out Example now :( Example's still top 5 combined but he'll fall quite a bit if he loses his top 10 version.

The artists that perform on X Factor generally aren't "cool", and appealing to 16 year-olds anyway. Or else they'd have less Susan Boyle, Bon Jovi, Take That, Jamiroquai and Alicia Keys and more Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder, Lil Wayne, Flo Rida (although he did perform Bad Boys ), Pitbull, etc.

I think they're really aiming for artists that the whole family can tolerate enjoy (i.e. Heart FM music).

Jamiroquai performing on the xfactor was the most pointless thing I seen.

Why exactly?! It's over two years old. And better off left in the past...

Thats why when I heard tulisa of all people was chosen as a judge i coundnlt believe it, N-Dubz have always not liked X Factor, they're quite jealous and envious of the people who come from it but more so the people who are asked to perform on it, when they wouldnt be considered (untill now). I just think its mad that they are now associated with a show that they once clearly didnt like.

Looking forward to a Kelly Rowland performance.

Well, it was quite a controversial performance! :o http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...oquai-rant.html

Um, because it's a really, really good song, their biggest hit, and they're always fantastic when they perform it? I thought that was quite obvious.
