With comedies you can just follow them. It gets a lot more 'soapy' Season 4 onwards. I've only seen bits and bobs of Season 5 as I like watching them late night on E4 when I can't sleep. They introduce two main characters in Amy and Bernadette who gradually get more and more screen time as time goes by. Not hard to follow at all, as within an episode you'll understand their relationships to the other characters.

I've always thought about checking this out but I finally caught some of the first S1 episodes on E4 and love it, ended up buying the boxset of the first four seasons the other day. Penny is my favourite so far but all of the main characters are great.

Thinking about following Season 6 online from the end of September, does it matter if I haven't fully caught up by then? I know comedies are easier to just jump into than dramas which tend to have more story arcs.

The opening titles & theme song are fab too <3

I wouldn't watch it without catching up first, if I were you. There's a new character, Amy, who is AMAZING. It's really worth it to watch the time she gets introduced into the show! And the whole Penny + Leonard relationship may seem a bit complicated if you start watching from season 6 haha. Other than that I don't think much changed.

I'd watch it from the start. There are some really great episodes in the first few series that are definitely worth watching. One of my favourite episodes is when Penny gets addicted to online gaming, so funny and so relatable, if you have played online games. Another is when Sheldon tries to make friends and makes a 'Friendship Algorithm'.

Of course, the introduction of Amy is great as well. Sheldon's mother, who you don't see very often, is also hilarious.

I've been marathoning episodes the past few nights and I'm past the halfway mark of S2 now. Christine Baranski really can do no wrong.
Like others, i did not get into Big Bang at the beginning so had to get the boxsets and start off, thank god i did as i love this show so much now.
This is not as funny as it used to be. Been watching some series 5 episodes and I have not been laughing very much.

Fully caught up with this now, over 100 episodes in the space of two months. My favourite character is them all (but especially Howard's mother and Raj's parents).

Was it, though? I enjoyed it but as a flash mob it was awful, lol.
Flash mob was funny to watch, quite well done for so many people in such a small space

I didn't want to say that because I'm cautious of being negative but I didn't think it was great.

It was back on Thursday and it was a great episode (again!).

"He's walking around like he's 5 foot 6"

Penny looked so hot in those glasses!

YES JONJO.

And this is the only American show to be nominated at the National Television Awards, for "Situation Comedy"? :o I hope it stands a shot at winning and it might do with "Miranda" not being up for it.
