Quite repetitive, but the build-up to the first main chorus is amazing and it already sounds better on second listen. I think I liked Only Girl more when I first heard that, but already better than Russian Roulette & Umbrella (which I find overrated and at one time hated).

I think this is third best lead single for me.

01. 'Take A Bow' (It launched the reloaded version of GGGB so I dunno whether you want to count it or not! haha)

01. 'Russian Roulette'

02. 'Umbrella'

03. 'We Found Love' (feat. Calvin Harris)

---

04. 'SOS'

---

05. 'Only Girl (In the World)'

06. 'Pon De Replay'

1-3 are 10/9 out of 10's! 'SOS' is an 8 and the last two are 7's.

01. 'Umbrella'

02. 'We Found Love' (feat. Calvin Harris)

03. 'Only Girl (In the World)'

04. 'Take A Bow'

05. 'SOS'

06. 'Russian Roulette'

07. 'Pon De Replay'

'Umbrella' is a 10/10; 'We Found Love' an 8.5 (currently); 'Only Girl' an 8; 'Take a Bow' and 'SOS' at 7.5 and the last two are 6.5-7

Really like it. Not amazing. I prefer all the singles from Loud. But I despise Calvin Harris so considering its one of his productions I'm surprised I like it at all. Think it will be a grower too.

Just got round to listening to this  as I just came back from my Biology trip LOL.

REALLY like it. maybe not as much as 'Only Girl (In The World)' but it'll definitely grow.

10/10

01 SOS

02 Take A Bow

03 We Found Love

04 Only Girl (In The World)

05 Russian Roulette

9.5/10

06 Pon De Replay

9/10

07 Umbrella

Yes that is serious![/loon]

Yeah it really isn't doing it for me at all. I did expect as much given Calvin did the production and everything he's put his name to post 'Acceptable in the 80's' has been utter crap. It's just dreadful, I really dislike that style of music and hope it phases itself out very soon. Her vocals lift it a little and there's a decent hook so it isn't a total loss. I could imagine a stripped back version beind quite pleasant.

As for a lead singles rank/rate:

10 Russian Roulette

10 Only Girl (In The World)

08 Umbrella

08 SOS

07 Pon De Replay

06 Take A Bow

03 We Found Love

01. 'Russian Roulette'

02. 'We Found Love' (feat. Calvin Harris)

03. 'Umbrella'

04. 'SOS'

05. 'Only Girl (In the World)'

06 'Take A Bow'

07. 'Pon De Replay'

Maaaan she's had some killer first singles!

Did I read it's on US iTunes? If so does anyone have a HQ version they could send me please?! :D

1. Umbrella

2. S.O.S.

3. Russian Roulette

4. Only Girl (In The World)

5. Pon De Replay

6. We Found Love

7. Take A Bow

I would only really describe the top 3 as "killer first singles", 'Only Girl' is good and grew on me but nothing amazing, she usually releases better singles later on in the campaigns.

1. Only Girl (In the World)

2. We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)

3. Russian Roulette

4. Take a Bow

5. Umbrella

6. SOS

7. Pon De Replay

I find it difficult to rank her lead singles as none of them are anywhere near my favourite songs of hers, not even one would be in my Rihanna top five. I guess Take A Bow and Russian Roulette come closest and actually I really do like We Found Love too. I've always found Umbrella and to a certain extent Only Girl (In The World) overrated and I don't care for SOS or Pon De Replay.

This sounds INSANE on incredible speakers, HQ.

THE BASS PEOPLE

no offence, but that should definitely not happen. stripped back = boring. this = intense.

Stripped back = fantastic if done well. this = aural rape. I generally tend to steer clear of/hate songs that heavily rely on BASS as their 'hook' as it is very much bottom of my list of desirable aspects of a song.

Its not bad, not brilliant. Hopefully it will grow.

Currently #40 in the US iTunes ^_^

I wish they released it on a Tuesday so it could've gotten a full week of sales.

EDIT: up to #33 now
