Had Nicole Scherzinger been advertised on the 59p section a couple of weeks ago I believe it could have went top 15 as it's climbed over 15 places since it has been advertised.
Sugababes on 100,000 downloads  I nearly spat my drink at my screen, seriously they won't come near triple figures, they might past 10k quite easily.

As far as I am aware, the release has been cancelled. Its been put up as a free download as a 'taster of the album' on Amazon already and the pre-order was removed from iTunes and any other download sites. I don't think they are releasing it, but giving it away for free exclusively to Amazon.

Never did I think the day would come when the Sugababes would stoop so low. They were obviously scared it was going to miss the top 40 competely.

Would be funny if the US X Factor had an effect and boosted a song up tonight, as I am sure that the ratings will be very impressive in the UK, even though its on ITV2 due to all the hype.

It won't. American Idol and America's Got Talent have never had any significant effect on the UK chart and I'm 95% certain US X factor won't either. Is it even being advertised anywhere in the UK?

But with all the hype about Cheryl getting booted ect. I think the ratings will be far bigger than those shows. And, it has been advertised on ITV2.

It may have more effect than AI/AGT but I can't see it having anywhere near as big an effect as BGT/(UK)XF. Maybe on par with SCD?

I wasn't suggesting that, I was just suggesting that we could see some effect. Mabye something can go top 40 on iTunes due to it?

03. One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful 68.2%

04. Jason Derulo - It Girl 67.9%

Expect Damon Rice to drop out of the top 10 tomorrow and start to drop majorly.

It's Damien Rice.

I think iTunes/Artists should start reducing the prices of their fourth/fifth singles (e.g. Nicole Scherzinger with 'Wet)', because they obviously don't sell as well. Like Rihanna, I think she should reduce 'Cheers', to around 59p, so it will sell easier and it would probably go top ten. :)

It could be a way of getting a higher peak (kind of like "frontloading") aswell. If the artist announces the date they decrease the price, then a lot of people might wait for that day, so they have a chance at getting a higher peak rather than having their sales so spread out. Not that it matters of course.

Lighters up to #11! Very timely, since Damien Rice is just about to drop out of the top 10. Jar of Hearts getting back in there would be a bit pointless, as it's had long enough already.

Shame if it does. I was kindda hoping Cannonball would be the Make You Feel My Love/Don't Stop Believing of 2011

Make You Feel My Love fell out of the top 10 quickly too, initially. It stayed around for so long in the end because it got used in like a million other TV programs, and then radio played it to death aswell.

Don't Stop Believin' was very lucky in the sense that it got performed twice on X Factor too, and Glee Cast released their version of it pretty much exactly the same time! So I think both versions benefitted a lot from the other version being popular. And radio played that to death too in the end.

So, basically, I'm trying to say Cannonball still could be if it gets used on the show again. I kind of hope not though. Both those songs got so annoying last year.

It was actually only X Factor and Joe. Glee did not come into the picture until January 2010 after X Factor, when they first aired in the UK and started releasing their own songs.

I remember both versions of Don't Stop Believin' were at the top of the charts at the same time.

When Glee covers a song, the original nearly always gets a boost. And that song was BIG.

That was in January, but the song was already Top 10 by that time because Joe had performed it again for the X Factor final in December. Glee did not start releasing their songs until January when the show aired in the UK.

So for Don't Stop Believing, Joe had performed it once in October, and it jumped in the Top 20, then again in December, jumping the song to Top 10, then Glee aired in January and started releasing songs.

Funny enough, when that song first aired in the UK in 1982, it only charted as high as #62.

how exactly will it beat possibly the most anticipated release atm (the fake versions back that up) with just the fact it's her and no promotion? remember Where Dem Girls At & Born This Way....
TBF though had 'Born This Way' been released on the Sunday or Monday it would have slaughtered the chart competition at that time and gone to number 1. I want to say with what would have been the highest first week sales so far this year, but I'm not sure how much it did exactly.

I think Glee's version of it charted in December. I might be wrong though, but I remember discussing about whether it's a 2010 or 2011 song (someone was saying it's a 2010 song because it was released in 2010, and someone else was saying it's a 2011 song because that's the year it was popular).

And Journey's version would not have been as popular without Glee Cast's version (whether it was released in November 2009 or February 2010 ), and vice versa. They were very lucky to "happen" at the same time like that.

True. But also Rihanna's fanbase is nowhere near as big as Lady Gaga's, so she wouldn't have such insanely high first-week sales.

Someone worked out roughly what BTW's sales in its first 7 days were, but I can't remember now.
