It's a great track, i reckon number one. It amazes me how this woman bangs good tracks out one after another.

Everything she touches turns to gold.

I wouldn't want to be her boyfriend, then... :w00t:

Loving the cover of the single...

As for the track it's probably the worst thing Calvin Harris has ever done.

Implying its not the worst Ri has ever done, IYO?

In my opinion the likes of California King Bed, Te Amo, Don't Stop the Music and Russian Roulette are all worse. About en par with Disturbia (which is probably the most generic song Rihanna has ever put her name to).

'Loud' did amazingly well to get 1.5million without a re-release! 'Good Girl Gone Bad' actually needed the re-release to help it over the 1million mark.

I was amazed by the number of re-releases for "good girl gone bad" but I actually think its a lot better album than "loud". Also, Rihanna is now more of an established artist than she was then anyway.

Actually this could be the first #1 of 2012, if the track gets stuck at #2 for a few weeks, like she did with "What's My Name" earlier this year, it could happen when single sales are fairly low. If the track lingers in the top 5 for ages from Nov to Dec.

I don't see the song having that much longevity, for it to be held back until November (which means it'll be frontloaded), and then hang around in the top charts until January.

I read in the news that Calvin Harris was apparently threatened by Rihanna fans a few weeks ago telling him the the song needs to be good, or ELSE. :o

Who on EARTH voted this won't make the top 75?

There's always one or two plonkers :heehee:

I could see it missing #1, but realistically, I don't think it's possible that it'll chart any lower than #3, considering it's Rihanna, and Calvin Harris is popular here too.

Sales aren't as low in January as they used to be though, with iTunes gift card Christmas presents, and with 6 weeks of big Christmas sales under her belt by this time (perhaps slightly more), I doubt she could sustain it to be number 1 in the new year. More likely her second track off the album would be charting by then.

Very true... Rihanna has had a few stinkers.. a few slow ones I can't even remember and of course Distrubia :puke2:

I'm glad someone agrees about Disturbia. One of the most overrated songs of all-time (and this is coming from a Rihanna fan)! Just so boring. It was so pathetic seeing people get so worked up about it at the time, when it was frankly, quite mediocre imo.

I'm quite a big Rihanna fan but this disappoints me a little for a lead single. Her vocals are okay and quite tuneful however the instrumental doesn't really work as well as Calvin's solo work from the previous few albums. Both are great artists but this kind of falls short, unfortunately.

I agree that she shouldn't take a break at the moment, however it was perhaps a bit soon as Cheers/Man Down have only just been released in some countries. I'd quite like to see her collaborate with a couple of pop singers in the album - we all know how popular the S&M remix with Britney was, and that was just a remix! :D

And I love Disturbia :P

She needs to go on a break. In the past year she's had Love The Way You Lie, Only Girl, What's My Name, S&M, California King Bed, Cheers, Man Down, Who's That Chick, All Of The Lights, Fly and now this.

I doubt she'll match the success of Loud with this era anyway, I don't think anyone has two "huge" eras in a row these days.

I put #1 but now I think top 5, haha. I want it to chart top 20 - average song.

I do think this era will underperform to an extent. I'm sorry RiRi but releasing a new album when your last single is still doing the rounds on radio is just not a good idea. She'll do well but it just seems so rushed.

I can see this album being one of her worst. I just know that it'll be rushed and she'll have absaloutley no writing credits or anything ... :(

I'm a bit miffed to be honest. Why so soon? It's not like they need to capitalise on her success, cos she's been massive for a good few years now!

The song is ok. The production is the best bit. But it just doesn't, y'know, go anywhere? It's all a bit of a non-event with a catchy tune in the background. Bit disappointed.
