‘Giving You Up’ Absolutely love this song - another that seems to not get much love l.

If it wasn’t for the Elvis singles getting re-issued weekly this would have gone Top 5.

Have so much love for Giving You Up  The video is amazing, and still have fond memories of it in the Showgirl Tour!

I think giving you up is very under rated and it was one if the highlights on the showgirl tour for me.

'The One', another Kylie song it is very under rated. Was gutted when this didn't perform well in the charts.

Even as a big chart fan I didn't realise this!

I know 'Red Blooded Woman' was very unfortunate to have been released in a competitive week (would have been a #3 if released the week before or after) and don't get me started on 'I Believe in You' likely being cost a #1 placing due to its physical release two weeks after the album and over a month after being available to download! :drama:

'Giving You Up' is a song I'm guilty of overlooking too, but I really enjoy it when I hear it. The trio of Xenomania songs that Kylie did in 2004 were really interesting; they've always had a knack of switching up the pop formula and they do a great job with Kylie.

I think it’s quite highly rated by Kylie and her fans? Always gets a good reception when performed live. If it wasn’t for the screwed up release it would have at least gone Top 15.

Some tragedies there :drama: Kylie has so many could’ve/should’ve been’s over the years

What would people have thought about this being the third single from Aphrodite over 'Better Than Today'? It's got similarities to 'We Found Love' by Rihanna and 'Call My Name' by Cheryl which were both big number ones within the two years that passed. I don't think 'Too Much' would have been anywhere near as big as those but maybe it could have been just what Kylie needed at that point?

^^ I really like ‘Too Much’ and would have been very much of its time had it been a single, tbh I think anything would have been better than ‘Better Than Today’ - the record company seemed to panic after they deemed ‘Get Outta My Way’ as a failure (Looking at interviews around this era both Kylie and the label thought GOMW was going to be big).
I never did and still dont understand why so many thought get outta my way was going to be big, it never screamed big hit to me at all.

'Get Outta My Way' is a bit like 'Red Blooded Woman' in the sense that it was hailed a huge album highlight right from the off and considered to have big chart potential but just didn't manifest itself. I'm not sure why they thought 'Better Than Today' would have pulled it back - maybe based on the reception it received on the US tour the previous year? I just remember no-one saw it coming as a single at the time. I guess the release 'strategy' and the X Factor performance being weeks ahead would have meant anything that was released would have suffered, but at least something like 'Too Much' or 'Aphrodite' would have stood the test of time a bit more and be looked back on more fondly.

Better Than Today, was a very surprise choice of 3rd single.

The surprise level wasn't quiet as high as Where Is The Feeling surprise but both were not choices anyone saw coming.

I do enjoy Better Than Today and rate it above Get Outta My Way but it is a song fans would rate higher if it was left as an album track.

2 Hearts is another one of those style of songs that i think more of us would more fondly rate if it was an album track and not a single or a lead single for that matter.

Get outta my way and 2 hearts are def 2 songs I'd appreciate more if they were just album tracks.

'Get Outta My Way' has really gone down as a cult classic in the gay world, I do know people who actually consider it their favourite song.

With regards to 'I Believe In You', it would have been helpful if they'd not released it against Band Aid 20.

I Believe In You would easily have made it to the Top if it wasnt but up against one of the biggest charity singles of the year.

They really messed up on pitting it against Band Aid 20.

Your Disco Needs You :music:

Been streaming the album and YDNY has always been one of my favourite songs but it sounds so iconic on the GH and even more of a missed opportunity and injustice that it wasn’t given the chance to become a platinum selling #1 hit

I have to say living in Germany I still enjoy the fact that YDNY was a single over here. Kylie was on Germany's biggest show and I still remember her amazing performance there. The song / video was played on all radio stations and music channels. It became her highest charting song in Germany since Where The Wild Roses Grow and her biggest solo hit since Better The Devil You Know.

'I Should Be So Lucky' finished my night out last night - safe to say it's very well-known and liked among my peer group!
