October 3, 201113 yr 28 Nov Joe McElderry - Classic Christmas :o (as on Play.com) Yes that popped up over ther weekend. Not sure if its a special edition or new album.
October 3, 201113 yr It is SAD TIMES when Evanescene are considered for #1. :manson: And yet I was really enjoying life the last time they had a no.1 album. Summer 2003  Edited October 3, 201113 yr by T Boy
October 3, 201113 yr It is SAD TIMES when Evanescene are considered for #1. :manson: I agree. f***ing dreadful and massively overrated band. Unfortunately it does seem likely they'll be #1 as Kasabian, Ed Sheeran and Adele are already selling under 35k and James Morrison will probably decline just as fast as Kasabian/Ed, so Evanescence will probably only need 30k max to get #1  Edited October 3, 201113 yr by Bré
October 4, 201113 yr Saturdays #55 and they just got put up today, I think. It's been up for about a week hovering around 60s and 70s.
October 4, 201113 yr Michael Buble's album Christmas is out on Oct. 24th and could be an instant No.1. Certainly it'll be a big seller in the run up to Christmas.
October 4, 201113 yr Author Michael Buble's album Christmas is out on Oct. 24th and could be an instant No.1. Certainly it'll be a big seller in the run up to Christmas. Christmas albums as a general rule don't do amazingly in the UK, "Crazy Love" was huge and he would accumulate big sales with a proper new studio album but even then he relied on "casual sales" so much that I can't see this doing amazing things. Could go to #1 though.

Could go to #1 though. No you're right they don't do too well but this is Buble, who's sold 2 million of each of his last 2 albums! He won't beat Coldplay in his first week but think he'll have a few big weeks in late Nov/early Dec.

October 4, 201113 yr Author <cough>Katherine Jenkins<cough> She's usually good for 40k+ first week. Not usually until late October and November. She'll suffer from Christmas advertising not having kicked in yet.
October 4, 201113 yr Author No you're right they don't do too well but this is Buble, who's sold 2 million of each of his last 2 albums! He won't beat Coldplay in his first week but think he'll have a few big weeks in late Nov/early Dec. Yeah, who is generally a casual seller. You can usually work out how well an album is going to sell in its first week based on how well previous albums have done, but it's a far higher multiplier for acts with legions of fans.
October 4, 201113 yr Yeah, who is generally a casual seller. You can usually work out how well an album is going to sell in its first week based on how well previous albums have done, but it's a far higher multiplier for acts with legions of fans. Thinking about it I can't see it selling that well in late October. I'd have released a month later. He'll have big weekly sales much nearer to Christmas, especially if it's TV advertised and he's performing his single on X-Factor.
October 4, 201113 yr <cough>Katherine Jenkins<cough> She's usually good for 40k+ first week. I don't think Evanescence have a cat in hell's chance of No.1 as I think Jason Derulo will take it.
October 4, 201113 yr Not usually until late October and November. She'll suffer from Christmas advertising not having kicked in yet. But it's not an Xmas album...
October 4, 201113 yr I don't think Evanescence have a cat in hell's chance of No.1 as I think Jason Derulo will take it. I wouldn't count out Sir Cliff
October 4, 201113 yr I wouldn't count out Sir Cliff I take it he's given up on the singles chart then, since he's releasing the single on the same week as the album. Is the 'single' download only (i.e. not a single at all)? Björk's new album could do decently next week as well. Edited October 4, 201113 yr by Bré
October 4, 201113 yr Author But it's not an Xmas album... I don't know anyone who would buy a Katherine Jenkins album for their own listening pleasure, I know plenty who would buy one as a gift. Hence, it benefits from Christmas advertising.

Björk's new album could do decently next week as well. I forgot about Bjork, some weeks we'd see a completely new #6-10 in the albums chart with this release schedule
October 5, 201113 yr I take it he's given up on the singles chart then, since he's releasing the single on the same week as the album. Is the 'single' download only (i.e. not a single at all)? I don't think the single is actually being released
