I'm just pleased she's the highest of the new entries. How high is she on the albums chart? Is she in the top 10, considering you get 7 tracks for £1.99?

I've given up on Skylar. FFS. Such a beautiful song! Should have promoted THIS week and not a month or whatever ago! :drama:

24 on the albums also, I think it'll just get top 20

maroon 5 for number 1 this week, it won't outsell matt cardle next week so now is the last real chance it has of topping the chart!!

True but Cher Lloyd might. Sadly.

Edit: Oh she's been put back :cheer: What about Stereo Hearts though? I'd love to see Adam knock himself off :kink:

Apparently, B.o.B has released Strange Clouds in the UK today, be interesting to see where it gets to considering there is little/no hype for it.

Hope it does well though, interesting change from his material on Adventures of Bobby Ray.

Well with Lil' Wayne on it, it doesn't have a cat in hell's chance of #1 here :cheer:

I wonder if Matt will top next week - I mean the song isn't exactly fantastic and sure he will get an XF slot; but Joe got to 6 last year after his performance.

Will be interesting to see how well Matt actually does

Cher was never meant to be released next week  In fact I think she's been brought forward a week as I'm pretty sure she was up against Jessie J and Pixie and now she's not so I guess them two will have the XF slot for the following week.

For some reason I envisage #5 for Matt, however the charts are very barren at the moment so could get higher.

 24. Radioactive - Marina & the Diamonds

 34. Shake It Out - Florence + The Machine

Well at least F+TM are finally top 40, that's a start... I really hope they can miraculously turn it around and go at least top 20, at this rate it's not even going to outpeak What The Water Gave Me.

Radioactive is doing slightly worse than I expected as well, never thought in a million years it'd be outperforming a new F+TM single though.

Finally Maroonia are going to be No 1 our prayers have been answered.

Further proof that God either is evil or doesn't exist (probably the latter).

It's only Lil Wayne's own material that has no chance of #1 (since he's only had 2 top 40 hits as the lead artist). He hasn't had a #1 as a feature yet but he's only one appearance on a popular artist's hyped comeback single away from getting one :P Maybe he'll appear on Cher Lloyd's lead single from album 2 (if she even gets that far)

Nonetheless I don't think anyone would be expecting 'Strange Clouds' to be a #1 here. I can't see B.o.B getting any more big hits here unless he teams up with Bruno Mars again or something.

I still can't call it between Matt and GCH - I think GCH will definitely be #1 on iTunes at the close of the week without a doubt (and they'll sell more overall and hang around in the chart for much longer) but I think that any of the following could happen through the week:

A) Matt Cardle starts ahead and fades away over the week (but still gets official #1)

B) GCH start ahead, Matt is ahead for a while after XF performance, then GCH get back ahead at the end of the week (either could be #1)

C) GCH are #1 with a big lead the whole week and get the official #1

One thing's for certain though - Matt's album will massively outsell GCH's

lol at Florence... and people were thinking it could go top 5.. After the first or BUZZ single flopped it was easy to predict that SIO would struggle to go top ten.

What The Water Gave Me didn't flop. It did extremely well for a buzz single. Not every act can be as big as Lady Gaga with buzz singles. Even if you didn't think SIO would go top 10 it surely should follow that a held-back release with some prior airplay would at least outpeak a midweek OA/OS release with seemingly very little hype around it...

Whatever... But if SIO fails to go top 20, would it still be called a proper single?

Yes, because it is a proper single. Florence + The Machine are not some fickle struggling American urban/pop act that declare their flops to be 'buzz singles'. (And before you say it, 'What The Water Gave Me' was a buzz single and it was always intended to be).

Isn't she released the same week as The Wanted? That's a pretty poor release strategy IMO. The Wanted will crush her.

It's doing roughly what I expected if not better, I was sort of worried it'd miss the top 20 before Sunday but I thought it'd go top 10 absolute maximum if very lucky so I think it's doing well. Of course I won't count my chickens just yet...

Yes she is. I obviously want Cher to get number 1, but I dunno. Something tells me it'll "do a 'Thinking Of Me'" and peak at number 3 or something. But I get the feeling it'll beat 'Swagger Jagger''s opening sales/maybe even outsell it in the long run. It seems a lot more liked than SJ...

EDIT: I still predicted it to go #1 and The Wanted #2 in the other thread, just coz I'm loyal like that :P

It's great to see Maroon 5/Christina looking to reach #1 after 7 weeks in the top 3 - it's had too much an influence on the charts for it not to reach the summit.

I think Marina and Florence are doing as expected really - the latter was never going to get a T10, if anything I'm just a bit shocked Marina is doing the better of the two. I imagine people are holding back buying the singles for 'Ceremonials' in a few weeks, that's what I'm doing.

On the topic of B.o.B, I really like the new single - but don't see it doing well here in the UK. It may debut inside the T100, but with Lil Wayne featured on the track - it's unlikely to get R1 playlisting; although 'I'll Be in the Sky' managed too - and peaked in the T70.

Finally, in regards to next week's #1 - I think Matt Cardle has it in the bag. 'Stereo Hearts' is the #1 I'm hoping for, but an X-Factor performance is sure to push first week sales for Cardle into the 100-150k bracket - something Gym Class Heroes don't have any hope of doing.

When you say 'influence on the charts', I assume you just mean that it's had too high sales to not go to #1? I don't see any 'influence' it's had at all. Maybe at a push you could say it 'inspired' It Girl to include whistling in the chorus, so it's 'influenced' one other minor top 5 hit. Nonetheless, it's fairly commonplace these days for songs to sell 500-600k without being #1. Although I suppose Maroon 5 are probably aiming at 1 million+ in the long run which would be highly unusual for a song that didn't reach #1.

I'd be very surprised if Gym Class Heroes DIDN'T clear 100k. I could see them doing around what 'Grenade' did in its first week. It just feels like a massive hit waiting to happen. Although I don't think it's gone top 5 in the USA yet so maybe not. I think we'll only really have a clear idea of who will be #1 after Matt's XF performance.

SO. It appears The Wanted have brought the release date for 'Lightning' forward a week! So Cher will hopefully get her second number 1.
