Yep. I don't think she'll go very far, the media have already singled her out as the one to target. Just think she's very unlikeable, especially to the target audience that watch. She doesn't have the same appeal that Diana Vickers had to her. I quite like the tone to her voice, but it sounds so fake, a bit like a gimmick. I looked at the Digital Spy forums just now (God knows why), and the majority of them are absolutely clueless.

Deniece also reminded me of Nicole Scherzinger! With a touch of Sinitta, haha.

!!!!!!!!!

I said this multiple times to Robot & Bre on Msn

Will.I.AM was hilarious with Heshima, who was quite rude tbh. " You Look like you want to strangle me"

Jenny vs. Joelle 'I'm Every Woman'

I definitely think Jenny was the better of the two. She had a much better and less shrieky tone than what Joelle has. Gutted Will went for Joelle!

Max vs. Bill 'Beggin''

What a terrible start for both acts. I am a fan of Max's voice, but I think he was trying to outdo Bill far too much during this performance! He has the better tone for me, but Bill seemed to take control of his voice and didn't seem to sound so strained in parts! I wanted Max to go through, but if I was basing it on that performance, he most certainly didn't deserve to. But hopefully, now he won't have to battle with anyone else he'll be a lot more calm and controlling and be more like he was in his blind audition.

Aundrea vs. Sam 'A Little Less Conversation'

A lot of yelling from Aundrea in this and some stupid noises coming from Sam. A bit of a surreal performance from the two. It was far too OTT and all that adlibbing/shrieking was far too much for me. Aundrea's voice is huge, but Sam has the edge as he sounds far more unique than her. Definitely the right choice for Sir Tom though.

Kirsten vs. Toni 'Think'

The first time so far in the battles round where I thought they were perfectly matched for this sort of round. Definitely the best round for me so far, but I think I preferred Kirsten more than Toni. There's something in Toni's voice and tone that I find quite off putting. But as a performance they both gelled off each other surprisingly well! Not surprising who ended up going through though.

Bo vs. Vince 'With Or Without You'

Never been that keen on Vince and to see him paired up against Bo, I was pleased. But he really did surprise me and it was nice to see him take Danny's advice on board and held it back more. Bo definitely has the edge for me as I've always liked her (most performances I've seen from her) and thought she did beautifully on this performance. Fantastic to see her get through but the public are still going to hate her I reckon. (She'll reach the final 5 or so though)

Tyler vs. Heshima 'Yeah 3x'

Heshima is a dick, isn't he? I already want Tyler to win and go through. But it'll be Heshima... The song choice has completely screwed Tyler over though. He's a soul/blues singer, not a dance, rnb singer! Neither of them were very good on this performance, but like I said at the start of this section, I want Tyler to go through by default really. Oh thank God for that!

Vince vs. Jessica 'We Found Love'

Hated Vince's persona/character in his audition, and thought Jessica was "decent" in hers. But wow that was a performance and a half! I lvoed the contrasting styles of both their voices and thought that Jessica was robbed of a place in the finals, even though Vince definitely deserved to go through to. My favourite battle so far. Stunning arrangement!

Jay vs. Jaz 'Heard It Through The Grapevine'

Lol. Jaz pulling out the old "I'm suffering from bronchitis, but I'm gonna sound perfectly fine during the round" card already? Poor Jay. He has no chance. Such a shame really as I personally thought he was the better of the two. Jaz no doubt has a fantastic voice, but I don't get how he's any different to any other soul singer? He definitely doesn't deserve as much recognition as he has been getting... But I agree with Will in that Jay had a touch of Justin Timberlake about his voice. Just a shame it's practically gone to waste. :(

Denise vs. Ruth 'No One'

Denise is very much how I expect Nicole Scheriznger to look and sound like in 10 years or so! What's with all the shouting through this though? Some notes Ruth hit though were "woah!". She goes so low (in her register) where it sounds like she's sobbing/being mardy it's quite off putting, though. She shouted far to much but she's easily going through. Denise was a bit too all over the place, which cost her imo.

Rankings of the performances:

01. Vince vs. Jessica

02. Kirsten vs. Toni

03. Bo vs. Vince

04. Jay vs. Jaz

05. Denise vs. Ruth

06. Max vs. Bill

07. Tyler vs. Heshima

08. Jenny vs. Joelle

09. Aundrea vs. Sam

EDIT: Lol at the whole Nicole Scherzy thing. (Genuinely didn't read any posts before making this post!)

I agree with you on this, I just can't believe her personality. It feels so fake and forced to me! I do like her voice which is of course the main thing on this show, but I don't like her personality at all. She'll probably be gone in the first week or two though.

I don't think it's about who can sing a song much harder, more whether they can show all the right vocal gimmicks in the time they have. See Vince and Bo, Vince had a much more powerful voice but he controlled it really well so that he wasn't over powering Bo's. The problem was that Bo was always going to to through, especially since Danny has a lot more males than females. I thought Bo was better, but I think he voice is un-natural, but that's just my opinion.

I thought they got everything else right apart from Bill/Max. I thought Max was too gimicky, and Bill had a really nice tone to his voice. He'd come on so much more from the auditions.

I think this is what it SHOULD be about, but I'm not sure it is. The examples you use are very much the best examples, Vince and Bo were a lot more controlled. But, with the likes of Denise/Ruth or Sam/Aundrea - it really did seem that it was a matter of who could belt out a song the best, and who could put the most notes into one word, which isn't what I think a battle should be about.

I have to say, I really didn't like Vince Kidd AT ALL in the auditions, but he came across a lot better tonight, and although Jess was one of my favourites going into the battle rounds, deserved to lose to Vince last night.

Jenny was robbed! Curse of the West Midlands follows :( Joelle was too pedesterian imo.

Jessica v Vince and Tyler v Hashima were such poor duels.....they were like cats being strangled! Tyler will go far because of the Amy Winehouse link. Shame Jay v Jaz were drawn together.....both had great voices - hope Jay gets a chance somewhere else.

I can not stand Bo - didn't she say she was Lady? I bet David Cameron or a high ranking Tory paid for her to go on the show. Vince looked like a built version of Brendan from Holloyaks!

Ruth - WOW! Yes it was a bit shrieky for some, but she has such a great voice and talent. I hope she goes far. I love Toni too - very powerful voice.

and that makes it the millionth time we agree on something! :kink:

Haha! We really do have a similar taste in artists and music! :D

So glad Tyler made it through, he is definitely my favourite at the moment.

Ruth is lovely aswell. I think I agree with every decision, except for Bill and Max. I did enjoy Max his audition quite a lot, but his battle performance was a bit weird. Bill did a much better job, but I was not surprised to see that Danny went for Max.

I really don't get the fuss about Tyler, if anything he was the worst out of all the singers in the battles yesterday! But I really didn't want Heshima to get through because of his ego. Ruth is definitely my favourite so far, perhaps followed by Bo?

I personally thought it was Heshima who sounded worse out of the two but Heshima's poor vocals had a knock on effect on Tyler. So when they were singing parts together, both their vocals clashed rather than complimented each other.

Bo also reminded me very much of Diana Vickers when singing 'With Or Without You' with plenty of hand gestures. I agree with others though that Diana Vickers is more likeable as a person. Bo just seems to come across as slightly cold and her limited vocal range will show up during the live finals compared to the other female singers.

I generally found it easy to know who was going through by looking at who had the bigger family :kink: I guess in some sense it was rather predictable, but I do generally agree with all the decisions, except Max/Bill, I preferred the former in the auditions, but he was too try-hard tonight and I thought Bill just sounded natural. I also thought Jay was slightly better than Jaz, although I always knew that the latter would get through the instant he mentioned 'sore throat'

I agree with you on Tyler, he didn't really impress me at all in the Blind Auditions - in fact I thought he was worse than most of the people who got no judges to turn around. I did prefer him to Heshima last night but overall I was expecting a lot more from the whole 'omg THE Tyler James? WOAH!' thing when we found out he was going on it (as obviously he was too minor for me to remember him as I didn't fully follow music at the time, I only really knew what was the top 10/20.

Like I stated though, Tyler's voice is quite unique and only really suited to a pop/soul track. (Much like Amy Winehouse's style material) So it really was the shocking single choice from Will for him that screwed him over, I thought.

Plus why on earth would anyone choose 'Yeah x3' for their potential artist? Will said he "threw a curveball". I'd say he "chose a rubbish song". :D

I don't know how many people remember these two tracks but I really liked them back in 2004.

Tyler James - Why Do I Do?

Tyler James - Foolish

Cassius vs. David 'Beat It'

Definitely think Jessie went for the wrong guy. Cassius seems limited to me and I doubt he can be that much better as what we've already seen from him. I thought David walked that round tbh. :(

Barbara vs. Leanne 'The Edge of Glory'

This was absolutely fantastic! They both have incredible voices. The song choice seemed perfect. Both women should be proud of themselves. I'd go for Leanne over Barbara as I definitely think she has a more realistic chance of winning the whole thing. I'd be willing to put some money on Leanne after that battle! Immense.

None of the acts really stand out tonight, Edge Of Glory sounded all shouty in places.

So glad Frances went through  I know who won't be though ;)
Frances vs Kate, they shouldn't have been paired together, I just felt Kate was the strongest of the two acts, but both girls are pretty good.
