I agree, I can't see Matt holding up AT ALL once he drops out the top 10 - in fact, I can see a Leona/Avicii-esque plummet on the cards. :o

As long as it holds up better than 'Ambitions' (i.e. 3+ weeks top 40 :P) this release could have been more of a disaster.

Joe dropped out of the top 10 just after 1pm though, as I posted earlier.

 

And he was selling better at the start of the week than Matt ever has, which means Joe fell much faster than Matt has fallen.

Wow, that is a huge amount of pre-orders for Lana Del Rey!! :D

 

Though I remember Rumer having massive pre-orders and only getting to #16 so I'm not getting my hopes up.

 

It would be incrdible if 'Video Games' was #1 next week when it's officially released. I've loved the song since the first time I heard it in BJSC a few months back.

 

Also agree it's great to see Rihanna holding up well. No UK TV performances, no music video yet still looking set for two weeks at #1 in the UK charts. At least we've finally got a song that breaks the chain of one week wonders. :D 'We Found Love' is easily going to continue selling well for a while. Rihanna's record company are so on the ball - another record company would've probably still kept the track held back until November. :lol:

I went to see her at the O2 last night and WOW can she sing and perform! Calvin Harris was really good too but I honestly didn't realise Rihanna would command the stage the way she did. :o If anyone is going to see her on tour, prepare yourselves for 'Unfaithful' and 'Love The Way You Lie Part II'!

Funny, I was just watching a Rihanna live performance on Youtube (a Live Your Life/Run This Town medley that she did, which was total ORGASM (and also made me realize that Just Can't Get Enough by the Black Eyed Peas has almost the same chord progression as Run This Town)). :heart:

I think Katy will be doing incredibly well if her XF performance even gets TOTGO into the top 40. It's definitely not going to have as big an effect as Firework, I think that's a fairly safe assumption. Her album has had a year of sales since Firework.

I was thinking the same about it being the same album aswell. I was listening to this song when I was revising for my A-Levels, and it's going to be in the charts next week. Just such a strange thought, since it seems soooooooooo long ago. I can't even remember anything I learnt in my college years anymore, and some of those friends I revised with, I haven't seen in over a year. :( It's so strange that Katy Perry's new single is going to make me nostalgic. WTF? :blink: :lol:

 

There've been a few songs recently that've had their music videos released before even getting enough momentum to get into the top 1000 on iTunes, such as You and I and Papi, and they haven't really done very well. Although at least Katy's song was in the top 1000 a couple of days ago, so it's probably not far out of it atm.

I'd like to think there's a chance she can go at least top 3 but I'm fully expecting a top 2 of The Wanted and Lana (in that order) with Riharris still at #3, Maroon 5 at #4 and Kelly battling GCH for #5 at best, possibly charting even lower :(

I can see the comparisons to Hey Mickey! it has the same beat. It is miles better than Love Game (although the lyrics are probably equally as controversial!).

 

I suppose its asking too much to release it as a 7th single :(
