October 14, 201114 yr please try not to fill the topic with get well soon. Why - don't you want to? :P I guess my previous comment was a bit too risque for inclusion. :)
October 14, 201114 yr WOAH. So many Steps fans in here. Anyway, yessss at 'Power' being top 40. Hopefully it can get a new peak this week.
October 14, 201114 yr Yay for Kanye, and 2300 ahead MIGHT be enough for Evanescence to hold onto #2. Here's hoping.
October 14, 201114 yr They're over 4000 ahead of Adele and 1700 ahead of Evanescence It MUST be in the bag now surely?! :o :o :o :o :o This means if Steps are indeed #1 on Sunday, then I think they'll be the first British Boy/Girl group to get #1 albums in 3 consecutive decades. It also means they would have beaten Take That, Spice Girls and Boyzone who failed to reach #1 with their post-reunion Greatest Hits albums (get well soon Mikey :) ) Fabby :) :D :D :D :D I'm so excited right now, brings back memories of my teenage days following the fab five :)
October 14, 201114 yr Considering this was before Daybreak and they made up (apparently) 2.5k in a day, I'd hope so! Also over the week they've gained 3.8k on Adele.. you'd hope so. Probably won't be much more than 30,000 though - they're on 22k.

October 14, 201114 yr Absolutely thrilled for Steps! Never did I imagine such a successful comeback for them!

I can't believe we might see a Steps vs Noel Gallagher. 90's really are back!

Even as a loon fan of them, Steps have no chance against Noel Gallagher next week. I expect them to drop to #3 behind Noel and Matt, or #4 (behind Adele) next week, unless I'm missing out any other big releases?

Noel gallagher will thrash steps's projected 30k this week.... I can see steps probably dropping to #4 next week behind Noel, matt and adele.
October 14, 201114 yr I get the following from piecing together various tit bits of info from this week:- Artist Tue Mids Wed Mids Thu Mids Fri Mids Steps 8,700* 12,861 16,733* 22,000 Evanescence 11,000* 14,766 17,533* 20,300 Adele 8,500* 11,568 14,784* 18,000 * = Estimates from MW info / Claire Richards. In the individual battles:- Artist Tue Mids Wed Mids Thu Mids Fri Mids Steps v Evanescence -2,300 -1,905 -800 1,700 Evanescence v Adele 2,500 3,198 2,749 2,300 Steps v Adele 200 1,293 1,949 4,000 I almost don't want to say it but I cannot see Steps losing this now, unless there is a serious stock shortage today/tomorrow. The only other factor I can see is how the OCC are factoring in Steps' pre-sale mp3 album when tickets for their tour is purchases - is this a valid sale? Has it already been added to the above sales? Now the tickets are on general sale as of 9am today, the pre-sale mp3 album is no longer an option when purchasing tickets so if the sales of that WERE valid and WERE added into the Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri mids, then their daily sale is going to drop as a result today/tomorrow which COULD reverse the trend above.

I think steps have got this in the bag... and im sure those sales which included pre tickets are included... As it was a full budgeted album they were selling, while adding the pre-sale tickets.
October 14, 201114 yr Sales for download from Ticketmaster are only added and count when the purchaser downloads the album after getting an email. Mine was only downloaded today so my sale still needs to be counted :yahoo: Hope they can hold onto it
October 14, 201114 yr I'm surprised Matt is still top 5. I suspect he'll fall to at least 6 by Sunday with LMFAO ruining the chances of a perfect top 5. Like I say I think he could hold onto the top 5. We don't know how far ahead of #6 he is. I won't say he definitely will stay top 5 but I wouldn't say it's guaranteed he won't either. -x- Can I have today's exact positions for 'Wherever You Will Go' (The Calling), 'Fix You' and 'Power' please? YES at the latter being top 40 today, hopefully a new peak can be on the cards for it. It'll still be far too low a peak but if it can get even a place better than #36 that's be at least an improvement. The sheer GAY LOONAGE over Steps being #1 is painful to my eyes. Surely it's heading for the second lowest #1 sales of the year. Not that I wish to detract from the achievement of a group that no one will admit to liking coming back after nearly a decade in the wilderness with a greatest hits album almost identical to a one they released previously and still going to #1. That's still pretty damn impressive. But less so if it's 'only' going to need about 30k. Still no sign of Nero, I guess they'll miss out on the top 40 again this week. Surely they'll be there next week... TKOL RMX 1234567 still in the top 30 :o Holding up incredibly well. Edited October 14, 201114 yr by Bré
October 14, 201114 yr Thanks for the update, Will Young climbing a little this week. Thought he might be higher to be honest with a performance on Strictly Come Dancing. Oh I think he's doing ok with 7 new releases in front of him but still managing to climb a place since Sunday :) Unlike X Factor, SCD isn't reknown for boosting record sales to any great degree.
October 14, 201114 yr Surely albums which come with a pair of tickets aren't chart eligible? Maybe I've read it wrong but I thought it came free with tour tickets?
October 14, 201114 yr Surely albums which come with a pair of tickets aren't chart eligible? Maybe I've read it wrong but I thought it came free with tour tickets? The album wasn't free with the tickets, you purchased the album on ticketmaster beforehand which enabled you to buy tickets for the tour earlier.
October 14, 201114 yr It depends on whether or not Ticketmaster is an OCC-registered store for album sales which I doubt it is.
October 14, 201114 yr Disappointed for Evanescence missing out on the top spot. Goes to show that you really can buy a No. 1 with promotion and mass marketing. Evanescence have had LITERALLY zero promotion in this country and yet are only a few thousand copies behind Steps - they would have slaughtered them if they'd had the same sort of media exposure.
