You Me At 6 was still #1 this time last week, and it was knocked off by James Morrison on the Friday update, the album #1 could change tomorrow just have to wait and see.
I think Matt could be top 5 in tomorrow's update too but fall down to 7 by Sunday. Which is a shame because if he holds on, it will be the best top 5 of the year and I don't want LMFAO to ruin it :puke2:
Stores (online and high street) really need to get enough stock of Steps in to meet the demand...Amazon apparently only have 1 copy left in stock of the non DVD version which seems mad considering it's one of the biggest releases of the week...

It's out of stock until monday now. The DVD version is 6p more expensive tbf.

So Steps could be robbed of another #1 due to some stock issue? I'm right in saying they have certainly been underestimated
Does anyone really follow the release schedule though?

Younger fans are more likely to know when their favourite acts have a new album out whether by checking the act's website, the music press, Amazon / HMV etc.

Shae we dont have saes information for the latest update as we would know if Steps have managed to close the gap even further on evenesecnce, i would hate steps to lose out on number 1 due to shortage of stock, id rather they lose out on the number 1 simply because it didnt sell enough. Im sure the success of the album has come as a surprise to the record company aswell because im sure if they thought it was gona do this well they would have made sure there was enough stock. Either way though whether it goes number 1 or not its gona have a decent chart peak and i think it will sell consistantly right through to the end of the year and go platnum at the least.

Really hope Matt can hold onto top 5 but i think its very unlikely now.

Joe McElderry still climbing and is top 25 now, hope he continues to climb.

I think Matt could hold onto #5 on Sunday, LMFAO aren't *that* far ahead on iTunes (Matt is still selling a bit under 75% of them) and he has decent physical sales as well. I certainly can't see him being any lower than #6. And it's holding up quite well on iTunes now so I'm sure it'll have much better longevity than the first post-show singles of the other male winners (bar Shayne).
It would be nice for Matt to stay top 5 but sadly many will still deem this as a flop which in reality is not true. Steps continue to hold within the top 2 which is amazing, number 2 is fantastic for them but number 1 would be even more fantastic. Come on STEPS!
Hoping Evanescence can hang on, would be a victory for organically grown, mature music over mass-marketed, manufactured commercial cheese.
um im sorry but how many members have left evanescence. they play musical chairs more than the sugababes do. i wouldnt call them organic...

Unlike the Sugababes, they write all of their own material and their principle songwriter (and one of the two founding members) is still there...

Evanescence has always been Amy Lee's brainchild, as their focal point and main songwriter. The guitarist in me wants to give Ben Moody more credit for their early success, but really after listening to the new album, the essential Evanescence sound remains despite his departure.

Contrast that with Guns N' Roses, with Axl Rose as the sole remaining original member, Chinese Democracy sounds nothing like GNR, apart from Axl's trademark voice. Although I do still like CD, despite it being very different.

In fairness, the members that had left formed We Are The Fallen, and didn't deviate really from what they did in Evanescence, but they still lacked something. It does seem Amy had that spark they needed, really.

I think it does kind of help to think of Evanescence in a "Florence and The Machine" kind of way nowadays, though.

steps were good at what they did. they should not be demeaned for that as everyone knows they are manufacturered, but so what. they sold out tours and scored a run of hits that other acts cant.

i also like evanescence. their first big album was awesome, lithium was an amazing track and i hope they release another great single from this album.

but can we stop pitting the two acts against each other. it frustrates me as a music fan when people go for the cheap shots on music acts.

Evanescence vs Steps isn't a surreal enough argument for BJ entertainment. Now Run The World (Girls) vs Fix You was an absolute highlight.....

Ooh, I didn't see The Calling in the update earlier. Top 40 pretty much guaranteed for them this week then! Hopefully 'Power' will show up in the top 40 tomorrow.

Still no sign of Nero  It's been in the high 30s on iTunes all week, doing much better than last week when it ended up only just outside the top 40.

Still baffled by Will Youngs position for Jealousy. Currently 29 and as pleased as I am to see it climb. It really would've fallen considering it's falling quite rapidly on itunes  However if it does somehow stay top 30 officially then it's in store for a big fall out of the 40 next week then :(

looks like another Bionic possible plummet/ disaster for Evan. in the weeks ahead - even if they do get #1 this Sun.

Steps were just on Lorraine and they said they were 800 copies away from the #1

Not sure if that was from yesterdays midweek or if they've already been given todays
