Posted October 18, 201113 yr http://www.vevo.com/watch/the-ting-tings/h...up/GB1101100607 It's pretty meh thus far for me, listenable but I'm not jumping up and down about it... And yes, I'm putting this in Indie etc., I do think it warrants being in this forum. On the bright side, one step closer to actually getting the album!
October 18, 201113 yr I'll listen to this soon, but I've sadly lost my interest in them despite 'hands' being amazing. they left it waaaay too long. :(
October 18, 201113 yr It's like a horrible 80s metal remix of That's Not My Name. On the other hand, it reminds me of Junior Senior, so it can't be that bad.
October 18, 201113 yr I thought their album came out like a year ago and bombed... You're not really with it a lot of the time are you. This song has gotten a lot of hate but I don't mind it. Not a patch on Hands though.
October 18, 201113 yr I kind of like it, different to anything else around at the moment. It sounds like they've tried to recreate 'Walk This Way' almost. They're so over it's unreal though, it was fairly obvious they'd be one album wonders but it's astonishing just how badly they managed to bugger up the second album. Why did it take a whole year to release a second single?
October 18, 201113 yr God, they look terrible in that video. Neither of them can pull off being hipsters...well, they never could really, but at least with their first album they had decent songs. Hands was good but after it flopped they seem to have gone as far from sleek electro pop as possible and come out in punk rap dreadfulness.
October 19, 201113 yr This isn't entirely tragic, but it's a far cry from the brilliance of That's Not My Name.
October 19, 201113 yr You're not really with it a lot of the time are you. This song has gotten a lot of hate but I don't mind it. Not a patch on Hands though. I just thought that usually an album follows the single and Hands was last Autumn. To put it in four words: Too little, too late.
October 19, 201113 yr I just thought that usually an album follows the single and Hands was last Autumn. http://www.gifbin.com/bin/300g667434.gif I presume they scrapped most of the previous album sessions. The album Kusnt was meant to be released last year but it wasn't.
October 20, 201113 yr Really like this actually after a few listens. The "You can hang it up, you can hang it up. This time baby you can hang it up" bit is well addictive.
October 21, 201113 yr I really do like this after first listen, although I was most likely going to anyway. mainly because of katie's voice. it's still got nothing on 'hands' or most of their older singles either.
January 25, 201213 yr Indeed it has, I've listened to it and in fact a lot of the album tracks are better than those on the debut, which I considered to be incredibly weak aside from the great singles. Guggenheim, Day To Day, Help and In Your Life are all standouts for me on first listen but there was no need to leave it four years, I wonder if the album will even go top 40?

Guggenheim, Day To Day, Help and In Your Life are all standouts for me on first listen but there was no need to leave it four years, I wonder if the album will even go top 40? Doubt it. The single made what, #479 on iTunes or something ridiculous like that. It's going to be painful going from a #1 album, to a superflop album (that's if it even gets released still...). :( All I remember about We Started Nothing is that all of the singles (and Fruit Machine to a lesser extent) were brilliant, but most of the album tracks were listenable but noting special. Your description above sounds promising Rich! :o
January 29, 201213 yr "Asked about whether any of the songs on their new album would become big hit singles, the band said they would rather "puke on their own feet" than sit alongside the likes of Guetta on radio playlists and that they aren't after "cheap nasty hits". Speaking about their new album, the band said: "We would rather write songs that nobody's going to hear than write dance tracks that would fit on the radio after David Guetta", with singer Katie White adding: "I'd rather puke on my own feet than that"." http://www.nme.com/news/the-ting-tings/61708   Edited January 29, 201213 yr by SKOB
January 29, 201213 yr Finally a band that really speaks my mind. Not that I like the Ting Tings but I'm glad they stand by their sound.
