October 25, 201114 yr I'm expecting Coldplay #1 (obviously - it'll be more interesting to see if we get any sales info for it, knowing MW we probably won't), Noel and Kelly at 2 and 3 (not sure which order), Michael Bublé #4 and then any of about 7 albums (Adele, Ed Sheeran, Steps, Matt Cardle, Bruno Mars, Ronan Parke, The Soldiers) at #5. October 25, 201114 yr It's Coldplay, Noel, Michael, Kelly, Bruno - you can choose to believe me if you will :P Coldplay have shifted 95k, and Pro Green has done 67k - shit the bed!
October 25, 201114 yr Music week UK Midweek Chart update: Coldplay sales hit 95k already 12:10 | Tuesday October 25, 2011 By Paul Williams Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto is challenging Adele’s 21 to become the fastest-selling album in the UK this year after opening with more than 95,000 sales. The Parlophone act are certainties to debut at number one this coming Sunday with what will be their fifth chart-topping album out of five releases. They begin the week by outselling nearest rival Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds by nearly four copies to one, according to the Official Charts Company. In a week in which the fate of EMI’s future ownership could be determined, the UK major also has a very good chance of sitting at the top of the singles chart this coming Sunday with the Virgin-issued Read All About It by Professor Green featuring Emeli Sande the week’s biggest seller so far. Performed on ITV1’s X Factor results show last Sunday, the single has sold around 67,000 copies so far this week, around 14,000 more than fellow new release and its current closest challenger, the Syco-handled Earthquake by Labrinth featuring Tinie Tempah. Back on the albums chart and, having debuted at one last Sunday, the Sour Mash-issued Gallagher album is the week-to-date’s second-biggest artist album and is around 10,000 sales ahead of Reprise/Warner Bros act Michael Buble’s brand new album Christmas. Buble is joined among the top five sellers by RCA artist Kelly Clarkson whose Stronger is showing up as a new entry at four, while Elektra/Atlantic Bruno Mars who, like Clarkson, performed on last Sunday’s X Factor show, climbs 9-5 with Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Sales of Mars’ album are up 158% on the week, while the track he performed, Runaway Baby, is presently a new entry at 20 on the singles countdown. As Coldplay’s new album looks to challenge its opening-week sales of 208,090, achieved in January, XL act Adele’s album 21 faces the prospect of dropping out of the top five for the first time since its release. Placed fourth last Sunday, it is currently the ninth biggest artist seller of the new chart week. Ahead of Adele, Tom Waits is aiming to achieve only his second UK Top 10 album – the first, Mule Variations, reached number nine in May 1999 – with the newly-released Anti release Bad As Me the week so far’s sixth top seller. Former Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes’ new solo album Secret Codes And Battleships – released on his Powdered Sugar label – is new at 11, while Sony’s re-issue of Paul Simon’s Grammy-winning Graceland crops up in 14th position. Also currently showing up as new entries among the Top 20 positions are albums from Roadrunner’s Machine Head (16th place) and Epic/Syco’s Ronan Parke (19th), while in 21st and 22nd positions respectively are new albums from Demon’s The Soldiers and Because/Ed Banger’s Justice. On the singles chart Def Jam/Mercury’s single We Found Love by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris, which spent a third week at the top last Sunday, is now in third place. Kelly Clarkson is matching her album’s position this week on singles with Mr Know It All moving 6-4, while Peacefrog’s Charlene Soraia single Wherever You Will Go drops 3-5. Island act Rizzle Kicks appear poised to score a second Top 10 hit in their own right (they also topped the chart with Olly Murs) with When I Was A Youngster a new entry at seven. As they head to the top of the artist albums chart, Coldplay will also return to the singles chart this week. Paradise is new at 12 in the chart week so far, one position ahead of fellow new release, the Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen single You Make Me Feel by Cobra Starship featuring Sabi.
October 25, 201114 yr Oh I wanted Kelly to finally have a UK #1 album. :( It'll probably be: #1 - Coldplay #2 - Noel G #3 - Kelly C #4 - Bruno #5 - Matt
October 25, 201114 yr Wow! Massive boost for Bruno Mars!! And fantastic sales for Coldplay and Professor Green!
October 25, 201114 yr I wanted Kelly top 2 :( She should be 3rd by Sunday probably though with decent sales. PMSL at Ronan Parke only 19  He's only gonna fall further too!
October 25, 201114 yr yeh I was right with Michael Buble!! :cheer: All be it a little early for Christmas!!
October 25, 201114 yr I hope Kelly can bag a 4th consecutive top 3 album. Glad Bruno has been boosted by XF. ^_^
October 25, 201114 yr 95k first day :cheer: It probably won't pass 300k but it'll definitely be closer to that than 200k unless its sales absolutely COLLAPSE over the week. Have MW already forgotten Lady Gaga beat 21 as the fastest selling album of the year? :P Coldplay should beat the highest weekly sales of the year, taking that away from Adele but that was on her tenth week, not her first. Absolutely INSANE sales for Professor Green but expected really. 53k is fantastic for Earthquake as well :cheer: Hopefully it can be Tinie's biggest opening week despite being #2. The sales for the top 3 are going to be crazy this week.
October 25, 201114 yr i liked ronan parke's version of Because of You but im glad he is failing because I really don't like what he has done to Vanessa Carlton's signature tune
October 25, 201114 yr I would have thought Michael Buble is a strong supermarket seller so his sales might increase at the end of the week.
October 25, 201114 yr yeh I was right with Michael Buble!! :cheer: All be it a little early for Christmas!! I'm sure the album advert during X factor helped it's cause. I certainly went aww and will probably get it at some stage, just not yet. Noel's holding up well. It's a great album :D
October 25, 201114 yr So we can deduce Michael Bublé's sales are roughly 13,750 today. Should be heading for 50k+ this week then?
