The only thing I like about Frankie Cocozza is he discovered 'Iris' for me - everything else is :puke: :puke: especially his performances of IGF and SISOSIG

That was the first time I'd heard People Help The People. I'm not familiar with the original, so I can't compare, but Birdy's performance of it was the best I've heard her do. Sounded like she was putting more into it than Skinny Love at least.

Afternoon! Skinny Love is OK, but it is terrible up to the Bon Iver original. Plus, she has covered the Fleet Foxes which a crime punishable by death. :arrr:

No, I don't like any of her tracks more than the originals, but can bear this one more than most!

I think her version of "Skinny Love" is way better than the original, and I don't say that about a lot of cover versions.

Shame this has flopped so hard, I really like it :(. This and 'Good Girls Go Bad' were pretty good pop songs imo.

I think I might've heard the Ronan Keating version when it was out (which isn't good obv lol), and chances are I heard Iris (the original) on the radio once and forgot about it - then I loved it after the performance (I'm not the only one, it went to #3 in the charts!) I knew of Iris' existance but didn't give the song a chance because it sounded like an average rock ballad.

 

On the other hand, Marry You :puke: :puke: Can you take a break Bruno :drama: It Will Rain is so boring/forgettable

Marry You has done incredibly without a music video! Same with Set Fire to the Rain. I don't think all songs need music videos to do well int he chart (although obviously they do help a lot :lol:).

 

I was hoping Swagger Jagger would re-enter the top 40 this week. Just for the lol value, if anything. :lol:

 

The two new entries between #21 and #30 are probably Tinchy Stryder and that beef song?

I was tempted to buy the Birdy album as I really was interested in the choice of cover versions included. Then I realised I'd be FAR better off making a compilation of the original tracks instead. :D
