Tinchy Stryder feels so dated now, everything he does basically rips off something else :(

March?! Oh dear - clearly her record label are scared of a huge flop.

And as for Amelia, time will tell, but I really don't think she will win (though I do really like her).

I think it is for the best tbh.

I wonder if Leona will still lead with the Emeli Sande-penned 'Trouble'.

Rizzle Kicks are odd. They're like the sort of mismatching band that would have been put together in about 1994.

This Rizzle Kicks song sounds dated, and an attempt to rip-off "Opposite Of Adults" lyrics wise :( OOA should've been T10, it could have been big but never got much of a chance

Edit - OOA did do well to spent 10 weeks T40 :D

Emeli Sande is quite big at the moment, so she should do if she knows what is good for the album.

It's to be released on March 26th now. Don't ask why! :P

she needs a serious plan to be relevant again. her song earlier this year was poor and met with a poor reaction. i think her record company will be seriously trying to record something edgy or standout to launch the album as she is gonna need it.

I love Opposite of Adults so much.

With regards to Leona, I honestly don't have a clue what she should do. I think it would've helped if she had a song out atm to perform on X Factor. I think that would help her to get more fans.

Enjoy The Silence

The singing sensation who sold 14 million albums in 14 months and made musical history along the way is back with a diverse mix that will captivate the generations. This is Susan’s most personal and intimate album yet featuring some of her favorite songs including “You Have To Be There” as performed tonight on America’s Got Talent. Her return to the studio heralds a new era of music for the songstress who rocketed to fame over night after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009. Working closely with producer Steve Mac, Susan has specifically chosen songs that are emotive and reflective in response to the outpouring of life stories from so many people who wrote letters to her from around the globe.

The album is comprised of songs that will take you on a journey of self discovery. With a variation of tempos, this album will stir the innermost emotions—from the beautiful and light to the dramatic, haunting, and soul searching. Susan again injects her own inimitable style into new material and classics from some of the golden ages of music.

With Ur Love

Forget Jedward, Chico, Wagner, or the several other novelty acts that The X Factor has foisted upon unsuspecting viewers across the years, fourth-place finalist Cher Lloyd appeared to polarize audiences like no one else in the show's short history. Where some saw a confident demeanor, others saw a brattish attitude; where some viewed her as a voice of the streets, others believed she encapsulated everything that was wrong about today's youth; and where some marveled at her rap/singing versatility, others argued she was a jack of all trades but a master of none. It was always unlikely, therefore, that her debut album, Sticks + Stones, was going to be a shy and retiring MOR affair designed to appeal to the masses à la series winner Matt Cardle. However, there are times throughout its ten tracks when Lloyd does appear to be testing the patience of even her most ardent fans, none more so than on "Swagger Jagger," which may have hit the number one spot (albeit in a slow sales week) but is still a contrived mess, chaotically shifting from sub-Nicki Minaj hip-hop to nursery rhyme pop (its chorus samples "Oh My Darling Clementine") to Swedish House Mafia-esque trance, while its social media-baiting lyrics suggest her "haterz" are just jealous, completely discounting the fact that perhaps she just might not be everyone's cup of tea. Elsewhere, "Playa Boi" is an obnoxious slice of industrial R&B that should hang its head in shame for destroying the legacy of Neneh Cherry's "Buffalo Stance" ("He got a lean in the gangsta stance/He needs to rock the sickest brands"), while "Dub on the Track," a collaboration with grime artists Mic Righteous, Dot Rotten, and Ghetts, is a rather unconvincing attempt to prove her street credentials, complete with the now ubiquitous gigantic dirty wobble bass drops. However, when Lloyd stops trying so hard, she's actually a pretty compelling pop star. "Want You Back" and "End Up Here" are both infectious examples of cutesy pure pop that recall Britney before she lost her innocence; "Beautiful People," a duet with U.S. teen drama staples Carolina Liar, is a sweet Ryan Tedder-style ballad; and the closest the album gets to showcasing the impressive vocals she displayed on her famous "Stay" X Factor performance; while "With Ur Love" is a charming M.I.A.-inspired ditty that fuses a lolloping childlike bassline with bouncy beats and some surprisingly sugary-sweet melodies, although Mike Posner's guest rap is the pure definition of "phoned-in." At times, Sticks + Stones sounds like such a calculated effort to copy everything that's hot in 2011 that it's likely to feel utterly irrelevant by the time the clock strikes 12 on New Year's Eve. But it's by no means the car crash its lead single suggested, and if Lloyd can tone down the whole "in yer face" schtick, she might begin to win over some of those "haterz" who apparently can't stop "clicking, writing, or tweeting" about her. Glad You Came

Eschewing the usual "stand up for the key change ballads" of Westlife, the clichéd urban "fun in the club" knockoffs of JLS, and the tailor-made stadium rock anthems of Take That, the Wanted burst onto the pop scene in 2010 as one of the more exciting boy bands of their generation. But while their self-titled debut album included everything from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly-sampling dance-rock, angular indie disco, and Coldplay-esque tearjerkers, their follow-up, Battleground, is disappointingly a little more pedestrian. Indeed, having stumbled across a successful dance-pop formula, the quintet now seems scared to deviate from the now trademark brand of trance-lite synths, pulsing beats, and melancholic melodies first showcased on chart-topper "All Time Low." This hands-in-the-air approach dominates the album, whether it's the old-school rave of "The Weekend," the Guetta-esque electro-pop of "Lightning," or the Alphaville-influenced Red Nose Day single "Gold Forever," and while these are all serviceable dance-pop floor-fillers, only the authentic Balearic beats and accordion riffs of "Glad You Came" sound like they weren't spawned from a factory production line. The less uptempo numbers aren't much more inspiring either. There's the obligatory Ryan Tedder-style clattering R&B ballad ("Last to Know"), the dreary acoustic ballad ("I Want It All"), and the Diane Warren-penned power ballad ("Rocket"), which furthers the theory that the Grammy winner hasn't written anything worthwhile in over a decade. However, there are a few flashes of invention proving that the Wanted are still a cut above your average boy band. "Warzone" is a subtle attempt at dubstep that fuses somber piano chords and an epic soft rock chorus with distant wobble basslines and spacious beats, while the muted beats and minimal analog synths of "Be Your Strength" could have escaped from a James Blake record (if you ignore the song's over-earnest vocals). Battleground should still consolidate their position as heirs to the boy band throne, but with the likes of One Direction now snapping at their heels, they'll have to rediscover their inventive streak in the future if they are to ever take the crown. ¯ Jon O'Brien (HMV)

Coldplay began working on Mylo Xyloto in 2009, while the band was still in the midst of its multi-year tour in support of Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. Recording sessions stretched from 2009 to 2011, with Brian Eno collaborating with the band on several songs and R&B singer Rihanna lending her vocals to “Princes of China.” Markus Dravs, Daniel Green, and Rik Simpson all shared production credits, too, resulting in a diverse album inspired by industrial rock and electro-pop. Coldplay began debuting the new tracks as early as May 2011, with “Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall” kicking off a string of anthemic singles.

AKA...What A Life!

When Oasis split up in August 2009, the Gallagher brothers bounced back by both forming their own side-projects. Liam Gallagher launched Beady Eye that same year, retaining most of Oasis’ lineup and cranking up his love for ‘60s rock & roll. Meanwhile, Noel reached out to musicians from different bands to piece together the High Flying Birds, whose music struck a balance between Oasis’ epic pop/rock and the Kinks’ lush psychedelia. Released in October 2011, the album also proved Noel’s willingness to step out of his comfort zone with songs like “The Death of You and Me,” which featured a marching band’s horn section. - HMV

Turning Tables (Live)

'21' is the second album from singer-songwriter Adele, and like her first record, 2008's '19', it is named after the age Adele was when she wrote the album. Most of '21' was produced by Rick Rubin, who has worked with some of the biggest acts of the last 20 years, and Florence & The Machine producer Paul Epworth. Lyrically the album reflects Adele's increased maturity since '19', although it explores many of the same themes.
