I knew there was a reason I gave up on this thread

Olly's new song is amazing and I am happy to see it #1 on itunes, shocked to see Kelly Ro so high though :o I for one adore the song.

I wasnt saying he didnt have a good fanbase he does. I was just saying someone liking you on Facebook does not mean you are real fan or will buy your music. HSAB has sold what 350-400k plus? (thats off the top of my head so may not be accurate) So that's 1 million plus people on facebook that 'like' him that havent bought it. So saying he has 1.4 fans is silly in relation to drawing viewing figures for Xtra Factor. I don't doubt his album will do well. If you look at the first date for the O2 all the 3rd tier seats are still available. I'm not saying that's bad just that its good promotion to say "sell out tour" when in reality thats not quite true.

Well alot of people, myself included, don't buy singles, they wait for the albums and get it on there, Olly has diverse appeal and I can see his older fans doing that. that said, Olly has sold over 400,000 copies of HSAB which is pretty good and it's still selling. He's that increasingly rare thing, especially in X Fator alumni, a pop artist who can sell albums as well as singles.

Anyway, I totally agree that it's easy to like someone on Facebook, but as far as Twitter goes, you soon unfollow people you don't like, especially when they tweet as often as Olly does. He will have some who just follow him cos he's famous but at the end of the day its all good as they're a captive audience ripe for promotion. And as for the tour, well I bet there aren't many seats going spare come the start of it, the fact that he's playing arenas so early in his career is pretty impressive if you ask me.

Well I don't know about all that stuff but it's not much of a walkover atm is it... Olly has continued to pull away from Rihanna since last night. In relation to Olly her sales are almost back to where they were before her performance.

1 Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight 1.0000 1.0000

2 Rihanna - We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris) 0.8916 0.8935

If you'd read my post, you'd know I was actually referring to albums and not singles. (Even though Rihanna will have MULTIPLE versions of WFL charting that will push her closer to Olly. (As the post I quoted below has shown...)

Shame that Rihanna isn't going back to #1 but she's had a great run at the top to say the least.

Jonjo, your post looks SO Christmassy  with the green and red.
Take Care ft Rihanna up to #7. About to displace Labrinth soon as well. Heard it few times over the weekend, sounds great on the radio
I hope that's as high as rebecca's mp3 form of nytol reaches.
Great to see En Vogue do well!

I think Rihanna is on track actually. You have to keep in mind that Olly is still within his first 48 hours on the chart and so will be continually increasing, Rihanna's new 20% increase lead over Flo Rida shows the X-Factor effect and her sales should keep up when Olly's loses all of his front loaded Sunday sales. I think We Found Love being only about 10% behind Olly at this stage of the week is really good going and puts her in with a reasonable shot at retaining the #1 on Sunday.

Some Updates:

12. Levels (Radio Edit) - Avicii [also #39]

26. A Thousand Years - Christina Perri

42. You da One - Rihanna

47. Talk That Talk (feat. Jay-Z) - Rihanna

58. Where Have You Been - Rihanna

61. Up (feat. Jessie J) - James Morrison [also #94]

130. I Like How It Feels - Enrique Iglesias

148. Come On (Radio Edit) - Will Young [also #116]

175. Let's Work Together - The Workers

Let's hope Avicii can go T10 tonight (or tomorrow morning maybe)!

Maroon 5 look like they're about to overtake Coldplay  Gaga and Avicii should both hopefully be top 10 soon though, so hopefully M5 will get knocked out regardless. Predictable but still annoying that MLJ is the highest charting track from Now! 80 -_- It'll probably get a 15th week top 10 then, they've already beaten Ed so another week won't really hurt much. Next barrier of annoyance is if they somehow manage to cling on for another four weeks and beat I Gotta Feeling's record for the millennium to date...

Don't Let Go (Love) is doing really well, could be top 20 this week :o I don't think I'd ever heard it before XF to be honest but it sounds like a pretty good song so I have no complaints about its resurgence.

Five album tracks from 'Talk That Talk' in the top 100 already - You Da One #45, Talk That Talk #50, Where Have You Been #59, Red Lipstick #86 and Fool In Love #95 (plus the album version of WFL at #53)! Doing really well. Especially TTT, it's the only collaboration on the album aside from WFL but I wouldn't have thought a Jay-Z collaboration would attract so many cherrypicks considering it's not exactly THAT exciting a collab (this must be like the tenth song that they've appeared on together ) You Da One, Talk That Talk and Where Have You Been at least should all go top 100 this week and maybe a couple of others will too. Hopefully her album can sell 200k+ this week.

Down For Whatever and Nothing's Real But Love have spoiled what was previously an utterly fantastic top seven (the rest of the current top 10 minus MLJ ofc are all in my current personal chart top 10, 6 of those in the top 7!) :(

Rihanna and Jay Z have only been on 4 tracks together iirc; Umbrella, Run this town, the haiti track and TTT.

Yeah, that's it I think (unless you count remixes). Beyonce and Jay-Z might have like 10 though.

40. You da One - Rihanna

42. Talk That Talk (feat. JAY Z) - Rihanna

50. We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris) - Rihanna

73. Red Lipstick - Rihanna

79. Fool In Love - Rihanna

81. Do Ya Thang - Rihanna

Extremely disappointed to see Mary J. Blige making zero impact with her new album  it's too good to be ignored! Better than The Saturdays, Rihanna's & One Direction's efforts by far imo.

405. Mr. Wrong (feat. Drake) - Mary J. Blige

661. Love a Woman (feat. Beyoncé) - Mary J. Blige

899. Ain't Nobody - Mary J. Blige

934. 25 / 8 - Mary J. Blige
