I think it'll flop and I want this to flop. I love Mikrofonkat but this version of the song is just an insult.

Completely agree, this is a lazy, tacky stab at an English version... and it just doesn't work.

Never heard of that - which is sort of the point. If you're British, you're likely to prefer the English language version of it, however badly translated, as at least you can understand the words...

BTW, the picture of her on Wikipedia is about as unflattering as it could be. :(

Flop. I don't think it will get any promotion or support here. Even Until I Die got radio play and that flopped.
Please let this flop. Like the other person said Mikronfonkat is 1000x better, it's a bit like the Danza Kuduro situation. The original is always the best :D

Are you kidding - the video has been on the Sky music channels for ages!

'Danza Kuduro' aside it seems :P

Think - Flop

Want - Top 20

I do whole heartedly agree the Swedish version is SO much better, and the English one sounds a bit tacky/desperate but I just would love her to have another hit

I think you'll find it didn't, not even remotely.

It seems to be the same case for this so far, although I have heard it a couple of times on the specialist shows (not that this even means anything). I think it could make the top 75 but won't go very far.

Agreed, it will scrape top 75 probably, but it deserves top 5, even though the Swedish original is better, it's been too long since we had a major Scandipop hit here.
Surprised people think that this might go top 75, I honestly don't even see it going higher than top 300 on iTunes and it's going nowhere near the top 75 officially, which is a real shame as I like the song a lot. I echo the general sentiment that the original is better though.
well i found the gif on tumblr like two minutes later and every time i clicked edit my browser shut. sorry to have ruined your evening xo

The older I get, the less I understand the UK singles market.

People will buy generic boyband songs, and endless quantities of hip-hip, but *not* excellent pop songs like this??

Because there isn't really much of a market for this sound at the moment. I love Scandipop absolute tonnes as well but it definitely isn't an 'in' sound at the moment - and in any case, I'd personally say this isn't a particularly shining example of the genre

(And in any case, hip-hop isn't big at all at the moment? Yeah, maybe some artists who used to do hip-hop a few years back, but by and large they've moved into a very different kind of Eurodance to this.)

Eurodance used to be one of my favourite genres, but now that hip-hop is often shoe-horned into it, it has been spoiled for me.

I'm with Rich on this. She might match Tone Damli's iTunes peak position and that's about it. Which is truly tragic as this is a fantastic song (I'd rather we got the original also) but the UK just does buy Scandipop. It's such a shame that we miss out on so much brilliant music, but thats just the way it is.

So yeah, this deserves Release Me, will do Need You Now in the best possible scenario and is most likely to do absolutely shit all.

I think some people here haven't heard this original so:

This is seriously AMAZING! And it's not like the English version will help it become a huge hit - I say release the Swedish version and hope the "coolness" will help it do a bit better, I think it can! Or at least release it alongside it as a B-side...
