November 30, 201114 yr Ouch Take That...there was more incentive to buy the last live release I guess, it had a bonus disc of acoustic versions iirc, this is literally just the audio from the DVD. I bought it as I wanted it on my iPod but admittedly I considered not buying it... Also, Kate Bush and Nickelback have screwed my chances right up on the BJ Xmas competition, GAH, what mammoth falls for both - I thought they'd be about #14 and #15 respectively
November 30, 201114 yr Kate Bush has screwed me over quite a bit but I'm loving the falls for Nickelback. Hope they don't start holding up any better in the coming weeks. :D
November 30, 201114 yr Surprised at Take that falling. Mind you I have no knowledge of how Live albums usually do in comparison to regular studio ones? Same with Xmas albums, do they have decent sales? Quite a lead for Olly, looks like he will hold on then. Huge drop for Rebecca in the singles. Not looking good for her.

Think it depends on the artist.

November 30, 201114 yr Hmm, Olly 19k ahead of Bublé? He could stay ahead then but I still expect Bublé will run him close. But 'over' would be better... :w00t:
November 30, 201114 yr I hope Olly gets the #1 album, as both of them have been far too good to peak at #2.
November 30, 201114 yr Well Buble seems to be doing ok at it :) but Justin Beiber isn't. :P I think that sums up the market for Christmas albums
November 30, 201114 yr I think that sums up the market for Christmas albums  LOL Yes :) Buble has a huge fanbase. Nothing against him but Ive never really got it. Has JB ever really sold albums here? I've never taken any notice
November 30, 201114 yr but Justin Beiber isn't. :P After seeing his video for "Under the misteltoe" the other day I understand why (insert snooze smiley here) :)
November 30, 201114 yr Woooop! I love this midweek album chart - the best one ever, even better than yesterday's!! So nice to see Olly Murs and Michael Buble, such GENUINE and DECENT singers in the top 2 spots. This has restored my faith in (1) the power of the market forces at work in the music business; (2) the taste and discernment of the British music-buying public and (3) the true meaning of Christmas being able to survive a cynical industry. Ho ho ho :D :D :D :D :D :D
November 30, 201114 yr LOL Yes :) Buble has a huge fanbase. Nothing against him but Ive never really got it. Has JB ever really sold albums here? I've never taken any notice  'My World' has quite high overall sales, but that's partially because it's actually three separate releases which are all considered the same album by the OCC: the original 8-track EP, the 'expended edition' titled My Worlds (which was really just 'My World 2.0' with the original 8-track EP tacked onto it - MW2.0 itself wasn't released here separately) and 'My Worlds - The Collection' (which was yet another expanded edition, this time with 'My Worlds Acoustic' tacked on - that was also not released here separately). So while he's had 5 chart entries in the USA, he's only had 3 here. (He's released 7 'albums' in total but 2 of them ('My Worlds' and 'My Worlds - The Collection') weren't released in the USA). 'Never Say Never - The Remixes' bombed in the UK, peaked at #17 and only had 4 weeks in the top 100. 'Under The Mistletoe' has also bombed so far although it's climbing again now as we approach Christmas. Edited November 30, 201114 yr by Bré
November 30, 201114 yr 'My World' sold quite a lot, although that's partly because most of his album releases have been combined into one 'My World' entry - the original 8-track 'EP', the 'expanded' version with all the songs from 'My World 2.0' (which didn't get released separately here, so it's like The Fame's situation), 'My Worlds Acoustic' and I think there was yet another edition of it as well. 'Never Say Never - The Remixes' charted on its own and completely bombed (reached #17 and only spent 4 weeks in the T100). So while he's had like 4 or 5 chart entries in the USA, he's only had 3 here and only one of them has done well, partly because it's actually 3 or 4 releases which are all counted as the same album :P Blimey that's what they call Milking it :) I guess being a Superstar in the US means you maintain that image over here even if you don't sell that many records. Thanks Bre. Edited November 30, 201114 yr by torresgirl

I've just completely rewritten that post so it's more factually accurate (involving having to Google Justin Bieber and go to several Wikipedia pages about him - better clear my internet history :P)
November 30, 201114 yr 19k is a healthy gap between olly and buble although it still wouldnt surprise me if buble caught up, his fan base here is really strong i hope olly can hold on and get the no1 ICYDK is actually a pretty good album ouch at kelly rowland still not top40 although im guessing if she doesnt make an apperance this week then she probably will next with her x factor performance
November 30, 201114 yr ...think the slade chart run was 51-49-52 or something stupid!! It was 59-51-52-50-out, according to Chartstats. Slade have a slight disadvantage, compared with the other Christmas classics, because iTunes have the title wrong (as Merry Christmas Everyone), so if lazy people only search for the correct title (Merry Xmas Everyone), they won't find it.
