Y Everyone thinks that Little Mix is gonna win for sure...?

Little Mix may be 1/3 favourites to win it but I am comfortably sure that Marcus will win it. He appeals to the "final voters" and whenever there's been a group and a solo artist in the top 2, the individual has always won.

I'd prefer Marcus to come 2nd though if I'm thinking long-term. He has the most commercial appeal out of all the previous male winners and himself. The Bruno Mars comparisons certainly make sense.

EDIT: Leona  to #11.

Leona #10! :D

 10. Hurt - Leona Lewis

:o Never saw this getting anywhere near the top 10! Could it even go top 5 now? Massively outperforming my expectations. Jessie out of the top 10 :cheer:

 46. Hurt - Johnny Cash :(

I think Leona has a lot of steam to end up top 5 next Sunday - definitely with the Royal Variety Performance on Wednesday.

She probably won't be able to overtake Coldplay, Olly "Moves Like Jagger" Murs (although will be #1 this week :() and the eventual XF winner - possibly even Mariah Carey now that Christmas is only a fortnight away. But I think, now that she will have the top 10 effect and will benefit from XF repeats etc, she will climb to at least #5.

Except that the XF boost only last a couple of days, normally...

Which is why the Royal Variety Performance on Wednesday should stop/prevent it from free falling. (I'm not saying it will stop it, mind.)

Sales are going to be ridiculously low apart from the #1 so I can see Leona ending up #3 this week behind Little Mix/Marcus and Coldplay. Mariah probably #4 or 5 unfortunately -_-

T-Pain may not climb next week after all, I think he'll be #6 today and a non-mover at #6 next week (Olly dropping to #4 or 5 as well) but possibly with a sales increase. Might even drop to #7 also behind Lloyd.

Leona's Hurt  #9, I'm so happy to see it climb so high. Breathtaking performance last night.

Glad All I Want For Xmas Is You #5

So happy to see Paradise still #1 too, really hope they perform it tonight :D

This top 10 has the potential to look really good - Leona, Marcus Collins, Mariah's AIWFCIY, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay...

Shame those T-Pain and Lloyd songs are in the top 10. :( They ruin it.

I think Leona could end up #3 on Sunday behind XF winner and Coldplay. She could even climb in Christmas week if there's enough momentum to #2 then possibly #1 in 2012?
I for one love Leona's version of Hurt (and yes I love the Johnny Cash original as well). Good for her coming back out of almost nowhere with a decent song.

I dont think its being sent to radio or getting a video though April so all it will be selling on is word of mouth and last nights X Factor performance (and after Wednesday Royal Variety performance) :D She looked the best she has ever looked last night, so classy.

Same Jester. Great to see!

Hurt is not going to hold up well at all - it'll do quite well this week and then plummet. Coldplay have a much better chance of reaching #1 in early 2012, they obviously have staying power as shown by it staying top 25 for 3 months already and barely even leaving the top 20 in that time, so there's no reason it can't stick around right at the top until the XF winner/Military Wives hype has died down :o I think it's definitely between Coldplay, T-Pain and Lloyd for the first new #1 of 2012 anyway.

Cash's version is also a cover, it was originally by Nine Inch Nails.

I'm actually really happy for Leona doing well after the rather lacklustre 'Collide' a few months back. This is Leona back to her best. She attempted dance (et la Alexis Jordan) and it didn't work. When it comes to turning dark indie anthems into understated (imo) pop songs, Leona does a great job. First 'Run', now 'Hurt'.

Collide peaked well too though and then dropped like a stone.

Leona can't make a career of covers. And Run isn't dark, Snow Patrol do melancholy but not dark.

Marry The Night  #23

I think Radio 1 have given up on Marry the Night, because I heard them play a song of hers called Black Jesus yesterday. :drama:

For what reason is Mariah Carey's AIWFC doing so well this year? I seem to remeber it dwindling year on year in previous charts.

I love Marry the Night and it would have done so much better as second single. I think Judas/You and I sullied this era for her.

It's 59p. (I believe - along with other Christmas songs (the ones ahead of 'Fairytale of New York'))

:o Well colour me stupid.
