Both versions of Fairytale Of New York are now ahead of Mariah's second version (30, 34 and 36 respectively) :D Their third version is also up to #131.

Most of the Christmas songs are now starting to fall a bit, so I think they've pretty much peaked for now - they will of course start increasing again as Christmas gets closer.

Commenting on the Xmas update

Great to see the 59p effect bringing more Xmas songs into the charts :cheer: especially Slade and Band Aid :D I also like Wizard. Wham! is alright but nothing special. Justin Bieber is not welcome back to the top 40 :puke: Why are people buying Brenda Lee's version of Rockin' Round The Christmas Tree? I much prefer the Mel & Kim version

Great to see the Chris Moyles effect has got Domnick The Italian Christmas Donkey Top 100   Why are some people buying Proper Crimbo however  sounds terrible from the preview.

Because the Mel & Kim's version is shit and Brenda Lee's version is amazing?

Lil Wayne should increase his 2011 top 100 hits tally to 10 this Sunday then, adding both 'Dedication To My Ex (Miss That)' and 'Mirror'.

 [159] 140. All I Want for Christmas - Samantha Mumba

There a name I never thought I would see in the top 200 again. C'mon and get that #1 Samantha :kink:

I'm not sure if Mirror will go top 100 this week. But it's amazing it's doing so well already, since it's getting very little radio airplay, doesn't have a music video and Lil Wayne is notorious for his songs usually flopping here (well, I say "flopping", but they tend to have poor peaks but then spend 2 years in the top 1000).

Mirror has been top 100 all week on iTunes (based on its positions in my updates it's gone 86-89-92-72-66) so I think it should manage top 100 this week. I wonder if it could become his highest peaking single as a lead artist? It's doing incredibly well as you say for a song with little airplay and no video. When it does get a video (assuming it will get one) I can see TV playing it a lot and radio will be more likely to play it than most of Lil Wayne's other singles because of Bruno Mars. I haven't heard it but does it sound a bit like 'Lighters' by any chance? I'm sure it'll at least be a third top 40 hit for Lil Wayne as a lead artist.

I think it's not fair cuz of the 10 weeks that the sales of "Paradise" were not counted... is at least 200K by the top 20 place and even higher... this could have been very big hit for them but now it won't of course.

Nah. It doesn't sound much like Lighters or Nothin' On You (thankfully). Bruno's chorus isn't as soppy or cheesy in Mirror. I don't know how to describe it really. It sounds like something which would be in a soundtrack for one of those Robin Hood-type adventure/sci-fi films.

 4. Paradise - Coldplay

 5. Dedication to My Ex (Miss That) [feat. Andre 3000 & Lil Wayne] - Lloyd

Probably just yet another blip from Lloyd but OMG :w00t:

Better be another blip, Paradise is good and deserves top 10 but it's so overrated - I'm over it now!

Glee has been over for an hour now, quick update;

#40 We Are Young

#64 Survivor/I Will Survive

[#127 Rumor Has It/Someone Like You - also #309]

#142 Man In The Mirror

#147 ABC

#232 Red Solo Cup

[#242 Perfect]

[#273 I Kissed A Girl]

#301 Buenos Aires

#378 Control

We Are Young should safely make top 75 at least this week I think.

And has the original version of Red Solo Cup even been released in the UK?

Hmm, We Are Young will probably get top 100 then but Survivor / I Will Survive still won't I reckon (#64 doesn't seem high enough).

34. We Are Young (Glee Cast Version) - Glee Cast

186. We Are Young (feat. Janelle Monáe) - Fun.

I still think this is an utterly bizarre choice of song to cover, I was hoping it could get Janelle Monáe a hit though. The original of We Are Young will be lucky to go top 200 :(

Sure Red Solo Cup beats that on the "Utterly bizarre choice of song to cover" front?

To be honest, I think the only place I've ever heard Janelle Monae before now is on B.o.B's album.

Oooh. Fantastic to see Wizzard so high :o first time it's (ever?) been ahead of 'Fairytale of New York' on itunes! Amazing.

04. Coldplay - Paradise (What A Fantastic decision to reduce this to 59p)

11. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You

20. Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas

21. Wham - Last Christmas

25. Justin Bieber - Mistletoe (His XFactor performance I guess was more effective than Kelly Rowland)

31. Glee Cast - We Are Young

57. Glee Cast - Survivor/I Will Survive

78. The Wanted - Warzone (This could officially miss the top 40 then :o )
