I've just realised that Adele in 4 weeks time will have been top 51 on the charts for ONE YEAR. Hopefully 21 holds onto top 10 for the year aswell!

Someone Like You's lowest position so far is #56, not #51 - top 60 for a year would be very impressive though! I Gotta Feeling also achieved that (in fact it did 60 consecutive weeks top 60) but that had a lower lowest position (#60) and also wasn't from the first week of its availability.

 

3 more weeks and RITD will have been top 80 for a year also.

It's even worse in the US. Party Rock Anthem is stil top 10 on their iTunes, and has been top 10 for 27 weeks.

Sexy And I Know It could do something similar - it's only just got to #1 there after being #2 for seven straight weeks (and it had 6 top 10 weeks already before that).

 

PRA has had more top 10 weeks in the USA than all but 3 other songs in history :drama:

 

And to think PRA started out as a massive flop and it only got big in the US several weeks after it did in the UK...

Off topic but if LMFAO beat LeAnn Rimes' record on the Hot 100 then I officially DESPAIR for the US public's taste even more than I already do.

 

And to think PRA started out as a massive flop and it only got big in the US several weeks after it did in the UK...

I can remember thinking 'oh you watch it shoot up to number 1 weeks and weeks later' and it did :lol: It would've been quite funny had it stuck it's original peak of something like 27 though :lol:

I just can't understand how Party Rock Anthem, is in the top 10 at CHRISTMAS! It's just so ridiculous. :lol: And it was like March time that it started getting popular in the UK I think. Since I've been following the charts, I've never seen a song with so much longevity before (but then, as you said, it's the 4th longest top 10 run in chart history, so this isn't something we witness every day (or even every decade!! :lol:)).

See what Bray said. BOTH songs were the same every week. Each week when I was seeing the US chart it was like :nocheer:

 

It's annoying aswell, because LMFAO SHOULD have been #1 for like a month already, since they've been selling more than We Found Love for ages, but they include airplay, which Rihanna is getting massive amounts of compared to LMFAO (since Rihanna's song has no rapping and less controversial lyrics :lol:).

 

Rihanna and LMFAO will almost certainly be the top 2 next week aswell. :drama:

The album version of 'Party Rock Anthem' has plummeted since being put back at 99p - was just outside the top 20 just two nights ago and is now down to the 60s and about to be re-overtaken by the single version! Hopefully this will mean it won't go top 20 again anyway :D

As long as it sells the 29k it needs to make a million ill be happy!

I wonder if 'Mama Do The Hump' will be another #8 single for Rizzle Kicks. :lol:

 

And ideally i'd have Lego House, Earthquake, We Found Love, Sexy and I Know It and Cannonball drop out of the top 10 and have The One That Got Away, Love On Top, Dedication To My Ex, Take Care and Warzone re-enter/enter it.

WHY do songs plummit when they go to 99p? Are people actually so stingy they cant spend at extra 40p?! Good lord. I know its a recession but its 40 blood p.

Although, if it keeps PRA out of the top 40, I cant complain.
