Chasing Cars soon to be top 40 :D

The top 10 are virtually climbers apart from 2 tracks.

How are others reading the updated iTunes chart?

I was on iTunes a few hours ago thanks to getting a £15 iTunes gift card for Christmas and wanted to redeem my credit. :D It was still showing Military Wives as the no. 1 track even though it had already been posted on here that Coldplay were back at the top.

Olly Murs is really getting more and more successful! :o

I've just watched him participate on Chris Moyles' Quiz Night and I have to say he's so down to earth and I can now understand why he was given the Xtra Factor job.

For those unable to see, here's some of the interesting movements from the past couple of hours;

Up;

06. LMFAO

17. Beyonce [LOT]

25. Adele [sLY]

28. Lady Gaga [MTN]

43. Snow Patrol [CC]

64. Rihanna [s&M]

78. One Direction [GBY]

87. Katy Perry [F]

88. Foster the People

Down;

07. Military Wives Choir

18. Lou Monte

29. Justin Bieber

30. T-Pain

73. Nirvanna (also @99)

Goodness me @ Snow Patrol! :lol:

Yes, Olly Murs is doing so well atm! :o And has Heart Skips a Beat sold more than Please Don't Let Me Go? Because if he has, that'll make him one of the few X Factor artists to have their highest-selling song not be their first single (along with Leona Lewis and maybe Cher Lloyd?).

Heart Skips a Beat is one of my favourite songs of the year. It's actually incredible. I hope it gets another massive climb this week. I'm loving all the random resurgences its had during its chart run. :D

Shame to see Wherever We Are down to #7 but regardless that's still probably another 50k or so of download sales in gift card week and it should be holding up better than that physically if last week's physical/download percentage divide is still as big as it was. I should think that it's likely to clear another 130-150k this week. With no pop bars it's impossible to see how far ahead Coldplay are and therefore what sort of sales they'll be on for but I'd hazard a guess at 75-80k...
Remember the time when the week after Christmas meant that certain acts (but mainly Iron Maiden) could release a new single and easily get it high up the chart? It looks that those days are long gone.

Yet the one week fanbase buy has returned in force thanks to useless ballad singles by popular boybands and chart campaigns engineered to span one week only!

Chasing Cars always seems to join in with the giftcard effect from the songs of that year, it got as high as 39 in 2009 as well! I'm not sure why tbh, I know gift cards aren't restricted, but not a lot of other songs outside the current year get that sort of boost :lol:

nonetheless, I'm sure Bré will be very happy to see it back :D

CC got back to #39 at the start of 2010 because it was voted the best song the decade (I DESPAIR for humanity) on a TV show.

It's so high at the moment because it's 59p as well as the gift card effect - if it was still 99p I doubt the gift card effect would be affecting it much.

I've given up on the bast*rd ever dying so as long as it doesn't go top 40 this week I'll be relatively happy :P

Warzone top 15. I'm so happy for them. :dance:

Is Kiss the stars out? :unsure:

Poor Pixie Lott :(

Edited by Jason

I am not sure what's happening with Pixie Lott - Kiss The Stars. They have not released the video yet but it was sent to the radios in early December. She's not flopping as bad as expected but All About Tonight has easily saved her campaign, What Do You Take Me For is so underrated imo and deserved better success.

57. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

223. Pixie Lott - What Do You Take Me For

279. Pixie Lott - All About Tonight

I don't think anybody can see outside the top 300, so it's impossible to know where Kiss the Stars is atm.

Despite her album being underwhelming I have strong faith that she will sell over 300,000 with Young Foolish & Happy. Nothing compared to Turn it Up sales though! She's away to get more press coverage as she features on Tinchy Stryder's new single

40. Coldplay - Chasing Cars

89. Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor

105. The Saturdays - All Fired Up (Really hope this re-enters the top 100)

142. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath

40. Coldplay - Chasing Cars

89. Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor

105. The Saturdays - All Fired Up (Really hope this re-enters the top 100)

142. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath

Chasing Cars is by Snow Patrol, not Coldplay (although it's an easy mistake to make tbh :lol:).

Releived that On the Floor isn't higher. I hope we get more interesting summer hits next year. 2010 was good with Stereo Love, Alors on danse and We No Speak Americano, but 2011 just seemed to three poor imitations of those songs with rap verses thrown in (On the Floor, Mr. Saxobeat and Party Rock Anthem respectively).

Lou Monte and Biebers xmas songs arent dropping THAT much should be top 40 next sunday!!

How is the thread tedious....i enjoy a good debate about music!!!

Shes performing on NYE on the national lottery show!!

Okay, clearly you don't like Christina then? But Floptina is going to get a million-seller and claim the year-end #2 next week, and I'm sure she'll have a top 10 hit next year.

Im hoping so (yn) Legendtina!!! :cheer:
