er... it's not about weeks on chart it's about peaks... 'Swagger Jagger' is a number 1 single while 'Moves Like Jagger' isn't even if the latter sold a few hundred thousand more copies....

besides 'Hold it against me' was a huge worldwide hit.... full stop. and if u hate that song so much don't vote for it, vote for the 19 other options....

You may as well have included "Homicidal Retribution" by Dying Fetus on that logic, since there's so many other songs to vote for. "Hold It Against Me" was NOT a huge worldwide hit, it sold a reasonable amount on the back of hype. "'Till The World Ends" was bigger overall and would have made slightly more sense if you were truly trying to make it a worldwide poll. But since #1s are so much more important than big sellers, why is "Moves Like Jagger" here over "Swagger Jagger"? :P

yes, such a HUUUGE flop according to the list above.....

If you take peaks into account, even Swagger Jagger will be a smash hit, just like you noticed. The "Hit" tag can only be added based on a chart performance, longevity, long term chart run and, above all, overall sales. Of course peaks are also important but they can't determine a song becoming a hit. Besides your list looks like a wikipedia source including countries that don't even have official singles charts (Poland, Slovakia) and those that have multiple charts (Belgium, Japan).

Not that I hate the song (I wasn't even bothered to listen to it properly to be honest), I just expressed my opinion about the list's accuracy.

Rolling In The Deep, Heart Skips A Beat & Price Tag. All R FABULOUS.
Moooooooooves Like Jagger

there's always complaints abou nominations, even the Grammys can't satisfy everyone's tastes...

That's why we normally do a couple of weeks of nomination sifting first.

Actually we've already got a more comprehensive "Record Of The Year" process ongoing, haven't we?

I voted for the top 3 (obviously). Everything from 12-20 is incredibly overrated in terms of success, hype and over exposure! The bottom three are easily in my top 10 least favourite songs of 2011.

The Wanted - Glad You Came

Example - Changed The Way You Kissed Me

One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful

Born This Way, Moves Like Jagger and We Found Love

Someone Like You, Rolling In The Deep, Firework

Where are The Edge Of Glory and Skinny Love?

Voted Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris - We Found Love
