I thought you would have loved LOT Liam :o

I thought it was a bit bland when I first heard it on the album, but since it has been made a single I have found all sorts of new love for it, its just so feel good and I love the way it builds up with the key changes at the end.

This!

My Mum absolutely loves it though and tries to sing along to all the key changes when it's on the radio!

I reckon Jessie will get to #1 next week with Swedish House Mafia going there the following week (really can't see Florence doing it). I actually never thought Lana would ever go to #1 but I wouldn't rule it out now considering there still isn't much out and I can't see SHM being there for long.

Could Will.I.Am get there with THE? Its now out on 6th February or may be I'm over predicting it considering it hasn't exactly done amazingly anywhere yet. DJ Fresh is a certain #1 in Feb IMO and as long as Alexandra's song is good, it's likely it could be #1.

Add in a mix of Gotye (which is at #65 after only a few plays on radio and no promo yet, I can't believe how quick its climbing everywhere now even the USA!) and Flo Rida's newie which I can see being big I think February should be at least abit more exciting than January.

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I'd like to believe there is going to be a fair amount of buzz surrounding 'Born To Die'. Strong radio/TV airplay between now and 23rd January could really help sell the track that week of release.

As for Will.I.Am, has 'T.H.E.' been released in any countries yet? I've seen the video quite a few times so it's got potential to become a big hit. 'Elephant' could still go to #1 regardless of how decent or poor the song is. I've still not heard the new DJ Fresh single so can't really comment on that yet. Same with 'Wild Ones' by Flo Rida.

Gotye remains the song I'd like to see do well over the coming weeks. I also saw 'STIUTK' up to #65 on iTunes so once airplay really sets in, it should boost the track sending it high up iTunes.

Angel feat Wretch-32 Go in Go Hard has a good chance at going to No 1 it is a really good song. DJ Fresh will certainly get to No 1 his best song after Golddust.

Of course Elephant will stomp its way to No 1 the remix is fire.

Does it seem like.. pretty much definite Lana's gonna get #1 then? :(

I'd say so, hype is so rife that VG periodically rises, so a new song on a VERY quiet week should easily manage it.

WHAT A SMASH !

I'm not so sure about Will.i.am not exactly taking off. As for Goyte could get a week or 2 if the track really takes off, I forgot all about him

What "hype" is there that is so rife about "Video Games"?

Not about VG, just about her. More people are hearing about her and downloading Video Games.

The Nicola Roberts record is unfortunately quite dire- It's almost like she wants to commit career suicide! :o

But that seems to be more and more about "word of mouth" type promotion, not "hype"?

Word of mouth basically equals hype? Hype is when everyone is talking about you as the next big thing..

No, not in my book. "Hype" is sustained promotional marketing, whereas Lana Del Rey seems to have arrived at where she is in a more organic manner.

I'm old enough to remember "chart hyping" from the early 1980s!

I don't think so really. She got signed to Interscope. It's a very clever record label, and they're hyping her up exactly like they did with 50 Cent, The Pussycat Dolls and Lady Gaga when they were breaking into the mainstream.

Gotye for number 1 PRETTY PLEASE.

Also, shocked Pixie is actually still climbing and hasn't just gone into freefall as expected :o

Despite Jessie falling back, she's finally picked up again and is now the closest she's ever been, less than 13% behind now :cheer:

All the heartbeats are trending on Twitter 'JessieJforBT40No1', so thats why its increased a couple of percent in the last hour or so

I'd love to see 'Domino' reach #1 - especially as there were doubts it'd even get #1 in the first place. In doing so well already, Jessie may need to re-think the song she'll perform on The Voice UK when it comes around, possibly another from the re-release, 'My Shadow'?

Lana del Rey and Swedish House Mafia are not contenders for #1, in my opinion. The former has the hype and will certainly debut in the top 10 - but Swedish House Mafia have never done amazing on week #1 - although 'Save the World' was basically an OA/OS release and as such dropped out of the chart pretty quickly. I'd like to think top 10 was certain, but I don't think it is; would like to see it peak there though.
