We've got more than enough old-ish songs coming back for a second spell in the Top 40 already and "Pumped Up Kicks" has already been in the Top 75 for 26 weeks. Surely there must be something else new that would be more worthy?

 

 

If you must know there is nothing new this week, well maybe Kelly Clarkson and Pixie Lott but they have already charted yesterday, but it seems lately new entries are charting outside the 40 are climbing inside the 40 a week later. That's why nothing new is charting inside the 40 lately.

Well yeah there is ("Breakn' A Sweat" or "Somebody That I Used To Know", for me) but if we're going to have an old hit from last year re-entering there weren't many I liked more than "Pumped Up Kicks".

I hate when we have stale weeks like this. :( I wish more artists would release during this time period instead of waiting until November, but then I guess they won't get the big sales.

54. Temper Trap Sweet Disposistion (Why has this climbed?)

 

The film 500 Days of Summer which it features in was on Ch4 last night.

 

'Troublemaker' has knocked 'Paradise' back down to #5 :( I'm not looking forward to Coldplay's sales this week, last week they got the lowest sales for a #2 since Taylor Swift's Love Story got there on about 33k (I never realised that peaked on such low sales).

 

Lego House out of the top 10 again :( Ah well, it'd been outside the top 10 when factoring in combined versions of other songs for ages I guess. And it's a good thing to have Lloyd back in (he's now back to #8).

 

Video Games holding up well from the Jonathan Ross boost (#15), I wonder if it could sneak into the top 10 again this week? Although her EP doesn't seem to be in the top 100 so maybe not.

 

Birdy at #22 and #78 :puke: I really wish people would buy the decent version of this song.

 

'Kiss The Stars' to #37. I think it could have struggled to even go top 40 without the 59p boost.

We could have an original song and a cover charting within a week of each other :o This happened a couple of times with Glee covers charting alongside the originals (Jar Of Hearts and Turning Tables) and of course it's happened with 'fake' versions charting the week before the real versions are released (loads of times) but very unusual to see it happening to this song.

'E.T.' back up to #58 with the DOI boost, but the Kanye version isn't top 100. I find it odd that people seem to buy the solo version more these days.

 

It's because the 'E.T.' album version is FAR better. Does the single mix include Katy's third verse verse? I can't remember.

An amazing film, downloaded the Smiths version of it last night - i alread have the sound track to the movie on cd though, its brillant!! :D

I think Jessie might not make it after all...

 

I really dread what the #1 sales will be this week if Jessie doesn't get ahead and pull away. (Well I suppose it's possible they'll just be around the same as last week, but Flo Rida doesn't need to decrease *that* much to go lower than Olly's #1 sales).

 

EDIT: I forgot that Olly already went lower than Nero. Need to stop quoting Nero as the archetypal low-sales #1 :kink:
