But landfill isn't a style though, it was just the term used for the shit that came later when there was so much of it.

True, and the Vaccines aren't really that similar in sound to The Kooks or early Scouting for Girls / Wombats anyway. To me they're more a hybrid of The Strokes and Ramones.

All of these should be top 20 very shortly then. WDKY(S) looking to be another top 10 hit for Kelly, I didn't think it would do this well :o I haven't heard it yet, hope it's up to the standard of MKIA.

It's definitely up to the standard, but they're not at all alike. Mr Know It All was a Bruno Mars soundalike whereas What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger) is as close as she's come to the sound of Breakaway since that album, musically it could have easily been released in between Since U Been Gone and Behind These Hazel Eyes.

This album is so much stronger (no pun intended :o) than All I Ever Wanted, it would be nice to see it regain momentum because it deserves to sell a lot more than it has done...

LOON DOWN :drink:

(Although I agree 100% with you - OBVIOUSLY :P)

Doesn't sound too promising to me based on that description but I'll wait to hear it to judge, I've been known to inexplicably like songs I should hate (like Avril Lavigne's What The Hell for example) :P

Personally I love 'All I Ever Wanted' much more, I still listen to some songs occasionally. While I listened to 'Stronger' only once and don't have any to repeat this action.

Love on Top #10 very shortly :(

:cheer:

Easily her best single this era. Bought it yesterday :D

Titanium>>>>>>>>>>>>>>WhereDemGirlsAt>>>>>>>>>>>>WithoutYou>>>>>>> x1000000 Little Bad Girl.

Titanium>>>Without You>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Where Dem Girls At

(I've asked this loads of times already but is Titanium actually the next single in the UK? I thought it was supposed to be 'Repeat'?)

Radio 1 have put it on the B list, so it looks like it's officially the next single

Speaking of R1's playlist, the new one was published on Monday..

I haven't revisited All I Ever Wanted since about three months after its release, the big polished heavily produced pop songs felt somewhat inauthentic (?) to me coming immediately after the raw, stripped back honesty of My December. Stronger is a good balance of everything she's done before with added maturity and a good mix of ballads, mid-tempos and uptempos. I used to be a HUGE (i.e. Jonjo level) Kelly stan during the Breakaway and to a slightly lesser extent My December eras but All I Ever Wanted definitely killed off my loyalty towards her. Stronger's winning it back :o

Titanium gained 5% inone hour... insane. This is going to be number 1 next weel... the best guetta track ever of course... loved it and knew this would be huge in europe while turn me on is huge in the us.
Wow @ Lloyd. :D Had a feeling this would stick around!

I'm glad it is now looking to stick around a while - the first 4 weeks of its chart run (3-5-8-13) didn't look promising but it'll be back up to 4 or 5 this week :D

Maroon 5 back outside the top 10 combined. Good. I think We Found Love is now just ahead of it again when combining all 3 versions (the third is now back in the top 100 so adds around another 0.04) so hopefully WFL will push it out of the official top 10 again by Sunday if nothing else does.

Swedish House Mafia might have a thing or two to say about that... would be an excellent top 2 given I'm not a big dance fan. Still hoping that "Born To Die" obliterates both of them the week after though.

iTunes looking rather grand at the moment. I'm actually quite surprised that Celebrity Big Brother seems to have had this much impact on 'Titanium' but if it was gonig to boost any song, then what a song to boost.

Maybe this will make the top 10 officially. Also great to see Lloyd sticking whilst that horrendous T-Pain drivel is long gone.

Keep climbing Gotye, and M83 to have a big hit with 'Midnight City' would be brilliant.

Urgh, I really hate that :( And I say this as a huge European and Latin music fan. I can't imagine it breaking through unless someone makes an English version, and considering it's called If I Could Fuck You I don't see it happening. To be honest it's only been a hit in the Latin countries because, well, it's in a Latin language, and a footballer danced to it at some point.

I have that song on my playlist ... just to check if it can grown on me .. but no .. it really sucks :s I'm mexican... but not fan of brazilian music neither spanish or mexican but Thalia :) IMO latin music sucks hahaha

All early signs are encouragingly pointing towards 2012 being a considerably more diverse year for the UK charts than 2011! Gotye and M83 leaping up the charts, Lana Del Rey set to be one of the stars of the year etc...hoorah! Wondering if we can manage a sizeable foreign language hit during this year. The first contender looks to be this, which is rocketing up the charts around Europe having originated in Brazil. A mix of Shakira and Ricky Martin musically but it's instantly catchy, which surely transcends the language barrier. There's no question that it would be huge here with radio and TV support, but as always, that's the huge stumbling block...

Personally I think the following should the official video for 'Ai Se Eu Te Pego!' instead.
