Fantastic final, and an overall triumphant series of Britain's Got Talent. Loved Ashleigh & Pudsey, made me smile every time, so was pleased to see them win.

Have to say, Molly did a stunning job on 'Ave Maria' - she's surely a star for the future. All of the singing acts were on top form. Really hope the two boy bands and two male soloists do well after this, and as Jester said, I can certainly imagine Jonathan & Charlotte having a top selling Christmas album.

Well I watched this for the first time since the auditions, and it was surprisingly good! with all the crap out, it was a great line up and seemed like a variety show again, rather than singer/dancer dominated. I enjoyed all the acts, bar The Mend who were AWFUL! was there no one better to bring back?! Very pleased with those winners, Its nice to see a variety act for a change and I think they're actually a cut above the other dog acts we've seen on here (I don't actually remember any of the others  )

No Keys and Phone guy though? Not impressed :(

The acts in the final were generally good but there was some real dross in the semis. Three semi-finals with three acts from each going through would have been an improvement.

Ashleigh & Pudsey – 39.0%

Jonathan & Charlotte – 25.8%

Only Boys Aloud – 15.8%

Loveable Rogues – 5.7%

Ryan O’Shaughnessy – 4.8%

Molly Rainford – 2.8%

The Mend – 2.6%

Nu Sxool – 1.2%

Sam Kelly – 1.0%

Aquabatique – 0.9%

Kai & Natalia – 0.4%

Poor aquabatique :(

I didn't watch any of the series apart from bobbing in and out of the semi-finals this week (with most of what I saw being horrendous), but after having been made to sit through the final last night, there were some genuinely very good acts there. I hadn't seen any of the winners before now, but having just watched their final performance on YouTube, they are definitely deserving winners, and finally it's a variety act!

Here is how the final voting ended:

01. Ashleigh and Pudsey - 39%

02. Jonathan and Charlotte - 25.8%

03. Only Boys Aloud - 15.8%

04. Loveable Rogues - 5.7%

05. Ryan O'Shaughnessy - 4.8%

06. Molly Rainford - 2.8%

07. The Mend - 2.6%

08. Nu Sxool - 1.2%

09. Sam Kelly - 1%

10. Aquabatique - 0.9%

11. Kai and Natalia - 0.4%

So it really wasn't that varied then... all of the singers placing 2-6 with another whose thunder was stolen by #5 placing at #9  Huge victory anyway!

EDIT: Hating Chris 4lyf.

Aww, shame Molly couldn't finish a bit higher :( She gave an utterly stunning performance last night!

SO glad Ashleigh & Pudsey won though, and it wasn't even close! They always make me smile

Agreed on both. I wasnt too fond of Molly going through in the semi finals advancing to the final as the group were better (Out of the blue I think) than her but that was just beautiful. So beautifully sung.

Also once again pleased Ashleigh & Pudsey won. They deserve it.

Don't know whether this has been mentioned or not but BGT drew in 11.4 million viewers. BTG did OWN The Voice though so hardly a suprise

  • 3 months later...

A bit of a BGT session on Boscombe beach tonight (with some X Factor thrown in). As a new addition to the annual Bournemouth Air Festival this yera there has been a pair of concerts by Boscombe pier. Thankfully the weather this year has been better than it has been for the last few years.

I went along to tonight's concert (after all, it was only £3.50 per ticket  ) to see Ben Montague (missed most of his set), Ryan O'Shaughnessy, Loveable Rogues, Matt Cardle, Lawson and the headliners Scouting For Girls.

Ryan O'S has a decent voice although it didn't help that the sound level was poor for his set. His biggest problem at the moment is that he has zero stage presence. Perhaps he would have been better in a more intimate venue rather than in the open air in front of around 3,000 people. There were 5,000 tickets available but I reckon only about 3,000 were there for his set before it filled up later. He finished his set with a decent version of We Are Young.

Loveable Rogues were easily the better live act of the two BGT finalists. After all, introducing the first song by saying "A few months ago we played this song on a TV show before losing to a dog" is a good way of getting the audience on your side. They also did a rather good cover of Bruno Mars' The Lazy Song mixed with Bob Marley's Jamming.

Matt Cardle's set was pretty weak but I did enjoy his version of Somebody That I Used To Know.
