Cover Drive's getting huge amounts of play on Capital! I doubt they'll need radio 1 tbh. They did well without them for 'Lick Ya Down', didn't they? :unsure: (I can't remember whether they playlisted that or not).

 

They better not ignore Cher Lloyd. (May be a little too early for her, but still!) Brilliant for Kelly C though, obviously. Really pleased to see them get fully on board with her this era. :D

IMO It's a Mixed Bag

I like guitar music but the A-List is looking a bit saturated with it.

All Time Low, Arctics, Noah & The Whale & The Big Pink would be no loss to the A list.

Happy to see Redlight, Gotye, Kelly Clarkson, Sub Focus, M83 & Maverik move up.

All the B-List adds are good.

Is the C-List smaller than usual? Good to see Lower Than Atlantis there and Ed Sheeran.

I disagree, i think thats what makes radio 1s playlist unique in comparison to the 'hit' stations like capital. They take risks abnd play bands like Black Keys, Twin Atlantic and The Maccabees on high rotation to give them commercial potential. I hated the Twin Atlantic track round xmas but love it now theyve done the live lounge. And radio 1 dont forget rihanna, One Direction and the other pop acts either - thats why they get 10 million listeners a day!!

I was surprised to see that Twilight's also on the Heart playlist, it doesn't seem like their sort of song at all :o Definitely expecting top ten at least for it, so much stronger than Lick Ya Down imo.

But Tbh I've no issue with the three bands that you've mentioned, in fact I'm really pleased that they're on the A List, the issue I have is that Noah & The Whale 4th/5th (?) single is an automatic A-Lister.

Totally right i would definately give Bombay Bicycle club more of a push - only shuffle has been alisted so far!! And its AM 4th single too!!

I hope they put Kelly Clarkson upto A-List next week!
