As a dance cover, it is quite good but I don't think it deserves number 1 over 'Titanium' or 'Wild Ones' as they are definitely better :) . Also, if Titanium does have the chance of going number 1 I may buy it even though I have the album. Would that be more likely this week or next week?

 

I'm 99% sure the #1 this week will be Twilight by Cover Drive. So Titanium is more likely to go #1 next week.

Gotye and Labrinth are making that top 10 look a lot more bearable.

To be honest, I've forgotten how The Edge of Glory goes, but it would classify as a "new" song anyway, since it came out at a similar time to Skinny Love and International Love, which we're counting as "new" songs.

 

Ayo Technology has many dimensions, and was a huge European smash FOR A REASON. Even those people who couldn't understand the lyrics, could appreciate the hypnotizing instrumental.

Gosh, I knew someone would mention that. :lol: The situation with this was that it was a case of both songs using the same preset, rather than one song copying the other. Timbaland has a history of plagiarising though, especially when it comes down to 8-bit/chiptune, so people naturally assumed he ripped off Crystal Castles. :drama:

This is a good example as to why producers should avoid using presets. Although I can understand why they were used in that song.

 

If Titanium gets to #1 next week, will it break any sort of record with regards to the time between debuting in the top 40 and climbing to #1? Surely it's been like 5 months since it debuted in the top 40. I think quite a few songs have probably broken that if you include those re-releases they used to do, where it didn't get to #1 the original time, but it did the 2nd time.

Gotye's been added to Q's playlist this week! I think more will follow suit and I really think it can climb even higher.

Yes! :dance: It's just a shame it won't be number 1 officially this week. Hopefully next week.

Whether Titanium gets to #1 next week will just depend on how the new releases do I think. Flo Rida seems to have stabilised, Jessie J will probably be decreasing, Cover Drive will be decreasing, Gotye will be climbing, but I doubt it will climb fast enough to challenge for #1 next week.

Either way I am a bigger fan of the Crystal Castles' song, I'll be honest!
