January 31, 201213 yr Author Slightly disappointed on first listen, it's a bit Taio Cruz-y and autotune-heavy as others have said - it's not awful but a bit of a letdown after how fantastic Earthquake was. I'll give it some more time though. Definitely better than Let The Sun Shine at least.
January 31, 201213 yr I actually like it alot. Autotune heavy yes, but it's not half as generic or bland as Taio Cruz etc. I can tell it's a big grower.
February 2, 201213 yr So we now know that Pitbull clearly heard this a year ago, thought "this sounds far too sophisticated" and tried to recreate it with "International Love". It sounds quite retro and tacky on first listen, although that may be the bizarre lyric video. It's better written than Taio Cruz's standard fodder but at least Taio gives most of his songs a decent hook.
February 28, 201213 yr I like this. Not as instant as 'Earthquake' but it's still quite uplifting and it's persuaded me to go for the album when it's released. :D
February 28, 201213 yr Author Tracklisting and official album cover have now been added on iTunes. First post updated with info. 'Last Time' has grown on me loads as I'd hoped :D Still pretty disappointing after 'Earthquake' but to be fair it'd be hard for him to make another song as good as that. Good to see 'Up In Flames' finally getting released, albeit only on the deluxe version. That song first surfaced a couple of months after Let The Sun Shine :P Edited February 28, 201213 yr by Bré
April 1, 201213 yr Took a listen to 'Electronic Earth' out of curiosity and I think I actually really like it. 'The Last Time' has finally hit me. But my favourites are definitely 'Let the Sun Shine' and 'Treatment'. 'Beneath Your Beautiful' is very nice too. Nice and strong debut I think. Whether it gets boring after a couple of plays or whatever (like how 'Earthquake' got boring quickly for me) remains to be seen but for now I'm liking it a fair bit.
April 1, 201213 yr Beneath Your Beautiful is gorgeous, really never expected him to do this sort of song but he seems quite diverse. That song, Earthquake and Let The Sun Shine are all poles apart musically. Decent album, the singles and Beneath Your Beautiful (future single, will Emeli's record company allow it?) stand out way more than anything else though. Some strange samples/interpolations in here though - Express Yourself, Got 'Til It's Gone...
April 4, 201213 yr Beneath Your Beautiful is gorgeous, really never expected him to do this sort of song but he seems quite diverse. That song, Earthquake and Let The Sun Shine are all poles apart musically. This ! The album sounds very strong on first listen, I should love it
April 8, 201213 yr Got this yesterday. Anyone else impressed at how long the tracks are? 'Treatment' is just fantastic.
May 1, 201213 yr Apparently 'Climb On Board' is the next single. Ew. I read he'd confirmed it as 'Express Yourself'. I think he needs something like 'Express Yourself' or 'Treatment' to keep the public interested - at the moment 'Let the Sun Shine' is his only non-autotuned/over-produced track. Hoping he releases 'Beneath Your Beautiful' as the fifth/final single anywho, the vocals on the track are just incredible.
May 1, 201213 yr Beneath Your Beautiful  I really wish Labrinth released this album after Earthquake, the album would be doing so much better.
May 2, 201213 yr Pretty sure 'Beneath Your Beautiful' will become a single at some point in the future, I can see them saving it for X Factor. Labrinth's a Syco artist and Emeli is loved by Simon and she'll be a big enough name to appear again by that point. Such a beautiful song!
May 18, 201213 yr WTF is happening to this guy?! Has anyone seen the video for Express Yourself? It's f***ing awful. Seriously dire. I honestly regret buying his album. Earthquake was clearly a one-off.
