The deadline has now passed, and we see People's Republic of Jester and Republic of Sass failing to vote in semi final 1. In semi final 2, Persephonia was the only one who neglected to vote :nocheer:

I'm quite pleased with the results, actually! It's going to be a REALLY exciting final! :w00t:

Are the results tomorrow or sunday?

Tomorrow (saturday) evening at around 7:30 PM :cheer:

Did you send out reminders? I might give him a message. Would you still take his vote if he got it in by the morning? He haqs been really busy lately though :(

As for Sass, Marky hasn't been on since Monday, I hope he doesn't feel bullied :/

Just a quick reminder:

Failure to vote in the final will result in a one contest ban to be served immediately. If you feel you have extenuating (and genuine) circumstances please PM a moderator detailing these and why you should have your ban overturned.

I did send him a reminder, yes. Well.. I MIGHT, if he has a good excuse. I don't feel comfortable with breaking my own rule out of principle and it wouldn't be fair to the other participants if for instance his votes changes things significantly for himself or others.

Bre is always actively posting in the charts forum, why does he not spend some time on voting..

Yes, they will :D I haven't been able to prepare as much as I'd like to for the semi final results as naturally I can't be sure of the results before everyone has voted. So I'm going to do most of the preparations tomorrow and an estimated results time would be at around 7:30 PM :cheer:

I don't think anyone will be here (me included) since it clashes with Melodifestivalen :D

I JUST thought of this :drama: You're right, and MGP is scheduled around that times as well. How about if I present some of the qualifiers at 6:30 PM and then take a break until after MGP and Melodifestivalen is finished? Or would it be best to do everything post MGP/Melodifestivalen?

Bré has built up a reputation of not voting. It's as if he doesn't want to win BJSC but make up the numbers. :D

Why can't he vote when he sends good songs then? I will be quite sad/annoyed if Zola doesn't make it because of him not voting, and I'm expecting it to be in that exact situation.

Should have cornered him in the chart forum earlier. That tends to work.

I guess the same works for Bray as Jester yes, if I corner him when he's on in time and get him to vote then would you except his votes Freeze? Obviously not if it's taking the piss timing wise, but it'd be a shame for him to miss out with such a great entry which could do relatively well :(

EDIT: Oh, just seen your above post :P I understand because I'd probably do the same, if someone just forgot but was actively online I'd not accept unless it was like an hour or less over the deadline, but if it was genuinely 'I'm really busy' and you can see they weren't online, then I probably would.

2 people didn't vote in my semi, less competition for me because I don't think I'm making it through :kink:

Exactly how I feel about Twintapes :(

It would be a shame if theoretically someone DNQ's because I let someone else vote 9/10/11 hours passed the deadline. It wouldn't be fair. They have had plenty of time to vote, there is even a recap there if they're is short on time as well. And if they knew they were going to be busy, then they should make use of that or at least say something. Obviously I'd be more lenient if there was - like Phil just said - genuin and extenuating circumstances.

Hmm.. would you guys even care if you hated their song choices?

Yeah, I can see what you mean now. I mean if I was the country that was last of the qualifiers and got pushed out because someone vote way past the deadline, then I'd be pretty annoyed, and if that did happen I'd feel quite sorry for whoever is there if it wasn't me.

Well I would, but less so :P

Bray needs to be whipped publicly

Well, yes, because I don't like seeing anyone doing worse than they should have done if they had voted, Twintapes might not be my thing, but I was still a little disappointed to see Jester hadn't voted. And it might well mean they've lost interest in the competition altogether, which means less discoveries for next time. And then there IS the reason that if someone else had entered the song, it would have stood more of a chance.

But I'm not going to make a huge fuss of it if the deduction doesn't affect anything, so we'll see. (Considering all 3 non-voters had entries that were hard to call and had many people putting them either way in the odds/predictions, I'm expecting it to though :()

I would certainly be concerned yes, but only cos Matt is my friend IRL. He hasn't replied to me yet anyway, hope he's fine. I agree you can't really extend the deadline, espeically since everyone met it. But if either of them happens to vote (which is unlikely) maybe you could accept it with a smaller points reduction?

The only downside to people not voting is the potential loss of 12 points to a song that could determine whether it qualifies or not.

So say the song that just misses out from making the final by 1 point is a song Bré or Jester would've given 12 points to, that's the main downside for people not voting imo.

Can't say for sure if Jester has been online in the last week but Bré has definitely spent most of the week in the iTunes thread so I know he's been online. I think in those cases they should just be given an auto DNQ even if they got the most points off everyone else. There needs to be some form of incentive to stay in the competition rather than just making up the numbers and having no intention of voting.
