January 31, 201214 yr Wow, yes, that is fab  Probably more excited than I should be for this album. As for the single, I think it will debut low top 20 and climb to top 3 next week. Singles sales aren't THAT low at the moment, certainly not as bad as the albums.  ya joking rite LOW TOP 20, then only top 3 week after, even the demo is dead catchy
January 31, 201214 yr   ya joking rite LOW TOP 20, then only top 3 week after, even the demo is dead catchy "Born This Way" couldn't climb into the top 2 almost exactly a year ago with an almost identical release strategy, why would "Give Me All Your Luvin'"?
January 31, 201214 yr Nobody has even heard the song. And by nobody I mean casual buyer, not die hard fans who think Celebration was the best thing ever at the time..
January 31, 201214 yr   ya joking rite LOW TOP 20, then only top 3 week after, even the demo is dead catchy I think people are hugely overestimating Madonna right now. There is very little buzz about her new single.
January 31, 201214 yr Alyssreid song is awful cover version with a horrible rap in the middle. I'd rather titanium be no1.
January 31, 201214 yr I'm comfortable believeing she'll never make an album as good as Ray of Light ever again :( You could well be right - but that doesn't mean her new material won't be good in its own right. I prefer to remain optimistic!
January 31, 201214 yr Lovely Number 1 album this week, well deserved and i was so pleased to see Lana Del Ray number 1.
January 31, 201214 yr Feeder for #1. :cheer: (Jokes, hoping Borders can manage Top 100 with physical sales. :nocheer:)
January 31, 201214 yr Hoping Titanium is #1 on Sunday, 59p on iTunes now really should push it there, last chance I think this week. Knew it'd be a huge hit.
January 31, 201214 yr I think people are hugely overestimating Madonna right now. There is very little buzz about her new single. I agree, I know Gaga debuted top 3 straight away but there was far more hype around her and I don't think Madonna has quite that same power any more (I'm NOT comparing the two btw  ) Edited January 31, 201214 yr by C.W
January 31, 201214 yr I've not seen any hype around Madonna apart from this week - so I don't see it doing much come Sunday. I don't even think it'll crack the top 40 officially this week, possibly do a Britney Spears' 'Till the World Ends'. It's success depends on whether the radio stations pick it up or not in time.
January 31, 201214 yr Lana Del Rey's debut album 'Born To Die' has sold roughly 50k in its first day of release. Source: BBC News Even if it's frontloaded, it could sell another 30-40k during the remainder of the week so like others have posted, the album will most likely sell 80-90k maximum this week.

I think it should pass 100k then if that's true :o To be honest I would have predicted it for that anyway if it weren't for the underperformance of its title track (although it looks like that could actually climb on the chart this week anyway). It's annoying that that article says record sales are the lowest they've been in 17 years - that's not true. It's the lowest the #1 album's sales have been in 17 years. Sales overall have been worse since then. The reporter also seems to have forgotten that + had a second week at #1 on the New Year's Day chart. Edited January 31, 201214 yr by Bré
January 31, 201214 yr 50k? Bloody hell, the only act I've ever seen go to #1 with less than a x2 Tuesday conversion rate (ie. selling less Tuesday-Saturday than it did on Monday alone) was Muse, and I'm not entirely sure why that happened. Not even Oasis dropped off that badly so Lana has to be looking at 120k now. Excellent news, hopefully that means it can be a big success in the long run and get close to a million sales this year.

Madonna will slay you just wait and see and pfff at her doing a "Till The World Ends" as if lmao!!
January 31, 201214 yr 50k is excellent first day sales! :D over 30k more than the last three albums total for the week  hopefully it should get around 90 or even 100k by the end of the week
January 31, 201214 yr Madonna will slay you just wait and see and pfff at her doing a "Till The World Ends" as if lmao!! "Celebration" says otherwise and that was held back. "Give Me All Your Luvin" will do very well to début top 10, it'll have to go to #1 on iTunes for a start.
