I never claimed to be a victim, nor a speeder. I didn't say I had a problem with the law, I have a problem with the police hiding in fucking bushes to catch people. (On the hill down from Alton Towers. Police car fitted with radar was hidden from view of the southbound carriageway by hedges. I saw it in my rearview mirror after I passed it, under the limit)

Err, when did I imply that you were a victim or a speeder?

When I started driving 6 years ago fuel cost £1.05/l. It's now £1.40/l. That's a third. My wages in that period has risen by approximately 12%. I wouldn't call that a fall in real terms. I call that being taken advantage of by the government's fuel escalator.

Public transport is insanely overpriced. You aren't going to convince me to take the train when it costs half the price for me to drive to Edinburgh and back AND pay for parking in the city centre.

Surely the point of hidden speed control is so that it catches those who'd drive above the limit when they think they're not being monitored? I don't see the issue here. Whether they're hidden or not, the speeders are still in the wrong.

And my mum lives on that road; it's not suited to be the main road to one of the most-visited attractions in Europe:

What a snidey miserable cow his wife is. She happily lied for him then dobs him in because he left the ugly bitch for a decent woman.

And I thought squeezing sexism into this story would be difficult.

Where has anyone done that?

How is that sexism? What charsui has said is slightly prejudiced, but it's not sexist in my opinion (unless I'm being really dumb and missing something really obvious).
Removing all blame from a culpable man in favour of blaming a less culpable woman, objectification and oversimplification of gender roles mostly.

Where did I do that? I stated, as a fact, that she was happy to go along with it until he left her. What has that got to do with sexism or gender?

You obviously view everything as a gender issue. I think that says more about you than me.

If you paid any attention at all to the court case, you'd know neither she (nor the rest of the family) were AT ALL happy to go along with it.
Isn't a lot of it public record? I'd say it's pretty undisputable that regardless of whether Huhne/Pryce are guilty or not that the family (particularly his son) were pretty unhappy with the circumstances surrounding it, especially considering he's pleaded guilty.

That I'm a feminist? Yeah, go on then.

You should still avoid comment that strays in to the territory of whether his ex-wife is guilty.

Does her case not rest on admitting that she did do it but that she is innocent as she was compelled to do so by Huhne under marital pressure?

And that will be a significant part of the jury's deliberations.

The candidate list for the Eastleigh by-election is as follows:

Wessex Regionalist - Colin Bex

Elvis Loves Pets Party - David Bishop

Peace - Jim Duggan

Beer, Baccy and Crumpet Party - Ray Hall

Monster Raving Loony - Howling Laud Hope

Conservative - Maria Hutchings

UKIP - Diane James

Health Action - Iain Maclennan

Christian - Kevin Milburn

Labour - John O'Farrell

TUSC - Daz Procter

Independent - Danny Stupple

Liberal Democrat - Mike Thornton

English Democrats - Michael Walters

Opinion polls seem to suggest it'll be a close contest between the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats, although that could change in the run-up to the election. Nice to see that David Bishop still doesn't have anything better to do with his time.
