I know Mira Craig has her fair share of haters, but I also know a lot of you love her as well! One of the reasons she has been away for such a long time (two years, last seen in MGP 2010) was that she felt hated by everyone and got depressed; she flopped in MGP and har previous album sold badly. Although her most important reason seems to be the birth of her son Mio Amioko.

 

She is out with a new single at the moment, called 'Aces high'. This time she's diverted from her usual alternative Pop/RnB sound to the more organic Pop/Rock sound, and her new, fourth album ("See the light") is about epic tales from the cowboy era.

 

 

I like this, personally. It can feel a bit repetative at first, but at the end of the song it works! She still has that unique attitude in her voice, and I wonder if this style will work better for her. The music video is a bit chaotic and fussy, but works better in other parts where we can see the ice hotel they're filming in and Miras' good looks! Still hot :wub:

My GOD I missed this incredible woman. She has this incredibly infectious voice that's just so nice to listen too.

 

 

I was a little worried when you said Pop/Rock but this is sublime! Well worth two years in hiding. I'm glad that she's back with a track up there with I'm The One and Headhunted.

I never have and never will get the hate for Headhunted, of all the past entries from BJSC I've heard it is honestly in my top 10!

It still sounds great today too, four years later, which is more than can be said for a lot of the finalists from X. Not bitter at all, honest :P Headhunted aside, people seem to either love or hate Mira. Not just BJSC, but in Norway too, except the haters go a bit overboard with their comments when it comes to Mira, she's faced some real bile in the BJSC forum over the years, far more than any other artist has.

That track reminds me a little bit of Beautiful Liar. The bassline sounds similar, and she does remind me of Shakira.

Never made that connection before, but now you mention it I can hear the similarities.

 

 

 

I think this is the first of her singles I can actually say should really be given a proper push as it has potential to be a hit outside of Norway. Not that her other singles don't deserve to be hits. Headhunted and I'm The One should have been global #1's

The only other way I could describe Mira involves frequent use of the word 'Legend'. The best way to describe her would be an outstandingly attractive, extraordinarily talented lass who is very original and has this inspiring air of individuality about her that says 'I am who I am and I'm damn proud of it'.
