Fair enough - I have no problem with people disagreeing with me, I only get upset when I'm falsely accused.

In any case, I don't think Plan B is saying anything a lot different from what the Sex Pistols were, in my day. Ironocally, that was *before* Thatcher became PM!

I just realised how old that makes me sound!

Just proof that the same issues are still apparent.

What age are you?

Is Sean Paul gaining on Katy or is it just me?

id say that thatchers policies caused more social exclusion than labours programme of democratic socialism in the post war era?

I guess, as usual, everyone interprets lyrics how they see it. :)

That's not an interpretation of the lyrics, that's just what Plan B said about the song

Is your song gaining on Katy as well? :o

They were certainly far less helpful in combating social exclusion but the issue was there despite the Labour governments' interventions - it was most apparent during the Industrial Revolution and they'd been fighting to lessen inequalities since then.

Are we seriously getting political in the iTunes chart thread? You do realise that's there's a whole board dedicated to venting your political spleen if you just scroll down a little bit.
The prospect of a third Katy number one is still making me extremely happy.

It's making me extremely :manson:

But it's better than JLS I suppose.

Sean Paul is actually gaining on Katy :o It'd be amazing if this could go to #1. It won't though. I could see it getting #2 as it has quite a big lead over Gotye now. (Labrinth isn't far behind Gotye so should be up to #3 very soon - JLS are now in red on Kworb though :()

Their previous singles haven't really interested me but I really like this  Hope it can somehow become a top 100 hit.

Yes and that gap between rich and poor only got worse in 13 years of labour but as has been said this isn't a political thread. In other news I really can't believe Sean Paul is back- I had more than enough of him in 2003 to last a lifetime. I've been thinking and if JLS can't even scrape the top 5 with a "new" single not on an album yet then it may be over them sooner than I thought- maybe even a GH set by the end of this year and a farewell tour?! :o

Who'd have thought that MIA would have a better chart run (if not peak) on her comeback single than Madonna? I don't really 'get' Bad Girls though, to me it just sounds repetitive.

In other news, I've just heard Marina and the Diamonds' news single & it sounds surprisingly good for her. It's the VIP track on the music channels - don't these usually do quite well?

Let's see what physical sales combined places them at before we go writing them off first, shall we? They're not going anywhere just yet!

Fingers crossed!! I love Marina and hope she can make it big this era

That's why I said "If". :D
