Had no idea this time yesterday that Katy Perry would be at #1 on iTunes and JLS the lowest of four new top 10 entries, my prediction was;

01 JLS

02 Labrinth

03 Gotye (feat. Kimbra)

04 Katy Perry

05 Nicki Minaj

I think that "Part Of Me" will perform similarly to Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" (even though that one was repressed months after the US and OZ).
CAN'T STAND JLS!! So happy they aren't living up to many predictions that would have them top of iTunes by midday. I understand it is for Sport Relief but I'd rather donate money on the night and eliminate any JLS possibility of getting another underserved number 1 single. :puke2:
Wow. Impressive that she's already there.

Does anyone think she could get 2 weeks at #1, since she'll have a music video boost at the end of this week. Chris Brown, Gotye and Plan B are her only competition for that week I think.

I wouldnt take Nicki out of that equation, i think she is releasing th SS video before April 3rd, and she is coming to the UK for promotion.

I think there's an opening for them to crack the USA with One Direction and The Wanted doing well there, so if they can pull that off they could still be around for a while to come. It'd probably help if they could get a second #1 album as well. But yeah, they're probably not far from a split (but boybands are never around for that long, JLS have had a pretty good lifespan so far and 'Proud' is heading for at least the top 3 which isn't a disaster).

i tend to agree with gezza here, theyve had 4 years which is the norm for boybands, after that their fanbase tends to outgrow them!the fact they are just top 10 now shows the will just be around top; 5 unless the cd sells loads and the midweek promo gives them a significant boost!

Yes I predict a final studio album from them in November, then a GH set for Xmas 13 and goodbye. I also can't see anything but a GH set from the Saturdays sometime this year before they split now the baby has arrived it's always virtually over.

Katy #1 - she overcame that lead very quickly!

JLS will still be number 1 i predict because of the CD sales

they didn't add much to The Wanted last year, so I can't see them doing much for this either - I still think they'll be top 3, but nowhere near number 1

I can only imagine how pleased my sister will be if this happens!

Shake It Out just used on Dancing On Ice  Jorgie Porter has an impeccable record when it comes to what she skates to, Bring To Me Life, Video Games, Baby More Time and now this!
Sean Paul  #3 Incredible!

What this proves is that if a song is popular enough it will do very well despite people's predictions. Also it could go the other way just like how almost all of you said Dappy - rockstar would be number 1 but in the end it wasn't.

I'm surprised at how well She Doesn't Mind is doing, if only Got 2 Luv U had achieved the same

I agree. Got 2 Luv U was a lot better (and not just because of Alexis Jordan  ).

YAY for Katy!

Another YAY at JLS completely under-performing!

:cheer:

I wouldn't call it under-performing just yet, it might take off after the Friday Live show on BBC1 from 7pm.

Part Of Me is basically Till The World Ends part two, can't believe it that UK eating that

It's nowhere near as good as Till the World Ends imo.

Dont think Katy got to no1 THAT quick, if it was going to be a massive seller any of the new releases would have got to no1 around midday...the time they are taking to climb suggests the no1 will sell around 75k-85k this week, not amazing....if gotye does fall behind them all the only good thing will be it will mean a massive selling top 5 next week!!!

Only one more week until i can download plan b :w00t:

The fact that katy perrys new video and starships new video arent out for a few more days means that the formers especially wont fall too quickly!
