They're a male/female duo (like a poppier Ting Tings) and they seem to be blowing up in a strange way. Their youtube videos have loads of views ('Crash Your Party' has close to 10 million) and their new one, 'Brokenhearted', despite not having an official video yet has over a million views. Pretty surprising considering they're not THAT well known yet. I have a feeling we're going to be hearing more from them this year and they will have at least two UK top 20 hits before the year is out.

'Crash Your Party':

'Brokenhearted':

Some of their covers have ridiculous amount of views. 'Look At Me Now', 'Super Bass', '6 Foot 7'.

I'm liking 'Brokenhearted'. Sounds like a big hit to me. Not sure about 'Crash Your Party' though.

Brokenhearted is clearly the better of the two. The best thing about them is the girl occasionally, almost randomly, descending into rapping, otherwise it's all by the numbers pop. :(

And Crash Your Party is pretty much terrible.

Vevo have been promoting them SO hard though, I'd be surprised if/when they decided to release something, they didn't get a hit.

I'm thinking Brokenhearted will surely be at least a top 20 when/if they release it here, it's very generic but fairly good. They're alright, there are acts doing the whole generic thing a lot worse. Their YouTube covers are fantastic I must say!

I've always thought Crash Your Party was awful since it first came out, but I swear it sounds even worse when I go back and listen to it now

'Crash The Party' was entered into BJSC wasn't it? I was instantly put off that song because of the dreadful "who do you think you are? kiss my oh my gaww". Tragic.

'Brokenhearted' is therefore the better of the two singles by default imo. I don't mind this song actually but it's far from being my fave entry in this months BJSC.

They should do songs more in the vein of their Look At Me Now cover. That's why most people like them in the first place.
Katie Sky introduced me to Brokenhearted and I like it very much! I love Katie's cover of it too - free download on her Facebook page! ;)

I first heard 'Brokenhearted' a couple of days ago on plug.dj and I've been loving it since. Seems to be doing alright in the US with radio picking up on it so hopefully it can cross over to the UK, exactly the type of pop I love.

I still think 'Brokenhearted' is going to be a big hit for them here.

Either way, here's the studio version to 'I Told You So'...

The verses ! The chorus, meh. They're alright, but it's all about the verses for me!

I've been listening to this EP non stop these past couple of days.

Coming Up Strong is my fave <3

The EP is reasonably good. It may not be very original, with 'Hello' sounding like a Nicki song, 'Brokenhearted' being very Katy Perry, 'I Told You So' having a very similar beat to 'Look At Me Now' and 'Too Many Fish' having clear Beyonce's 'Get Me Bodied' influence however, I am still really enjoying it as they are all very solid catchy pop tracks. I wish it was longer than just 7 tracks though:

08 Walking On The Moon

09 Brokenhearted

07 I Told You So

07 Too Many Fish

07 I'm Just Sayin'

06 Coming Up Strong

09 Hello

Bit disappointed it's only 7 tracks, but the EP is so good! It'd be amazing if it was a full album, hopefully one is just around the corner.

Brokenhearted has really grown on me loads since hearing it in BJSC, it still sounds like Jessie J doing Katy Perry, but it's so catchy I can't really argue. I Told You So is APPALLING though, seriously those verses are 1 high pitched shriek and a grunt away from Jessie J.
I do not hear anything in those verses that are like Jessie, for one Jessie doesn't rap, only does a one kind or rap/talk kind of thing in 'Who's Laughing Now'. I do agree with the fact that it's not the best thing Karmin has done, it is also one of my least favourite songs on the EP. I think due to 'Look At Me Now' being the biggest hitter on her YouTube page she was trying to have a song like that on the EP, but the background beat is just such a LAMN rip-off along with her doing a very fast Busta Rhymes piece of rapping and the chorus is too weak to carry it off. I don't dislike it by any means but I hope they don't release it as a single.
^ Please don't refer to Karmin as a 'she'... I hate how Nick has been relegated to backing vocals :(

'Brokenhearted' has been playlisted by Capital, really think it has the potential to be a huge hit here, definetly Top 10 at least!
Up for pre-order on iTunes as well. 22nd July release :)

Ahhh. Amazing. Deserves to be big! They've managed to get a hit out of it in the States, so hopefully UK radio eat this up too!
