Oh God, the Glee version of 'Shake It Out' is going to outpeak the original isn't it? :(

On the plus side at least the original is getting a good boost? #57 on iTunes. Hopefully Ceremonials gets something of a boost too.

Of course :( Obviously I am a massive Gleek (it's probably my favourite TV show ever) but I love the original SO much and I'm disappointed in their rendition. It's good, but I wanted a Tina solo (that means nothing if you don't watch it ) as rumoured, I just don't like the acoustic arrangement either. And Mercedes' voice doesn't suit the song really as Tina and Santana's do.

I suppose that's a good thing. Shame it can only re-enter the Hot 100 now if it somehow does well enough to be in the top 50, until then it'll be stuck with its #72 peak and 20 chart weeks.

'Scream' isn't off to a much better start than 'Climax', only #33 so far. I haven't heard it yet but based on others' reactions it's a bit of a pointless change when 'Climax' was one of his best ever, if not the best (and it didn't do THAT badly).

Skrillex/Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley are at #32, could become Skrillex's highest peaker (previously got to #69 with 'Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites').

Over on the Digital Songs chart, Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" (featuring Kimbra) retakes the No. 1 slot, rising one position with 414,000 downloads (down 11%). Last week's No. 1, Maroon 5's "Payphone" featuring Wiz Khalifa, falls to No. 2 with 330,000 (down 33%).

Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" hits a new high, rising 5-3 with 221,000 (up less than 1%) while fun.'s "We Are Young" (featuring Janelle Monae) falls 3-4 with 207,000 (down 18%).

Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend" moves 4-5 (192,000; down 18%) while Khalifa's new "Work Hard, Play Hard" debuts at No. 6 (172,000). One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" is down 6-7 (170,000; down 13%), Flo Rida's "Wild Ones" (featuring Sia) goes 7-8 (152,000; down 10%), and Minaj's "Starships" drops 8-9 (151,000; down 1%). The Wanted's "Glad You Came" closes out the top 10 by falling one slot to No. 10 (143,000, down 3%).

How many other songs have had three weeks of over 400k sales? :D

EDIT: The Hot 100 report has answered this for me - none at all, Gotye is the first to do more than 2 (Right Round, Grenade and Born This Way all did it twice) :D

http://www.dingsme.info/avatar10.jpgOh yeah because of the combined versions.

The combined versions has nothing to do with it. The Glee version is charted separately I believe.
Thank God Glee's version looks set to outperform the shrieky and warbly original of 'Shake It Out'. I love their version of the song so much and they've done it twice. (Made me like Florence & The Machine songs.)

It's a shame "Shake it out" never took off, i was praying for it to do a "Rolling In The Deep" but it never happened :(

I don't really like the Glee version either, I stopped watching it this series and not really missed it. The a-capella version of "How Will I Know" was great though.

It was, it's also her next single, best be huge :D

The best singer of all time SLAYING as per :smoke:

Shake it out would be good if someone else sang it.

Toby please just shut up with your constant posts in an attempt to get your post count up.

Huh, B.o.B and Taylor seem to have stalled at #4. Taylor's obsessive stans clearly aren't ALL obsessive enough to download an album track by another artist that features her then. Just most of them.

^ I saw the B.o.B/Taylor song at #3 earlier, so I guess it's falling now. I suppose some of her fans might not like the song since it's a rap song.

She's got a collab with Justin Bieber soon I heard, so I'm pretty sure THAT is going to #1 on iTunes!

I must be in the minority, but I absolutely love 'Shake It Out'. But I agree, the vocals are a bit al over the place. I prefer it live.

He does spam a lot, but that post actually had substance?
