Yay at being 14th in the end, not a flop :cheer: This puts it on the same level as Hafdis Huld which I can live with, although Kongulo was my summer anthem of '09 and I still hold it in VERY high regard despite its underperformance.

 

And 17 voters is really good to say that the winner got 20 :o

Well, I may have recieved a resounding flop but at least it wasn't unexpected. Needless to say a change in tactic is in order for the next contest.

I really didn't want to mention this because Juran Juran entered it, but that version of 'Around The World', imo, is dreadful and was sadly one of my 1/10. :( I just couldn't get into the song as I loved the original so much so this sounded like a really cheap version in comparison (and yes, the rent-a-rapper adds nothing to the track)

Feel free to mention what you like Hits, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I knew not everyone would like this, and when I realised just HOW similar this was to the original, I didn't even expect it to qualify. :P

 

Very happy with my result this time though, and thanks to all that gave it points! Especially my TWO 12's. :D (Would have preferred The 2 Bears to have got this success last month though... :P)

 

I just realised this is onlt the second time I've came mid-table (11th-20th). :lol: The only other time being my 11th place in my debut contest! :P

 

That makes two Top 10's, two Mid-Tables, TOO many bottom-third's and countless DNQ's. :lol:

Thank god I don't have to deal with hosting and my holiday at the same time (as IF I'd pass up the chance to host) although I do get the enormous pressure of finding something to follow up two second places. :(

Well, I think 13th in the semi is good considering where I ended up. So close to DNQing though, that's really quite scary (and with two brilliant songs directly below me). I'll have to up my game next time. Second time I've come 13th in the semi, and both times where I always assumed I was sailing straight through.

 

Looking back through the thread, there seems to be so many signs I'd be coming last. The biggest one was: 'Any of the bottom 8 could realistically end up there'.

Well, I was near the top of that bottom 8 at the time. :(

 

I can't wait for Dandy to host something again so I can break my flop curse with him. Thanks for hosting though, it was lovely.

Entirely for the record: You don't have to apologise if you didn't like my entry. I'm just happy that I introduced a song I'm loving to some people that didn't know it before. I also really really really didn't want to win this month as I'm in Portugal for the semi's and final of the next contest so second is the perfect result (although I'm DYING for that 3rd to complete my top5 set) and honestly Elen has done far better than I could have hoped for. I've just realised I scored 3 points LESS in the semi last month than I did in the final this month :lol:

The problem is that we round the scores. I'm sorry, I really don't like this non-whole numbers shit. But nothing can be changed now - the system is fucked up, because if the scores had been rounded up, Batidas would've stayed in the Semifinal, in BJSC20 Triodopolis would probably not have qualified but they had. And not to mention many minor changes in the scoreboards, thankfully, none of which affect any of the Top 10 positions.

Although shocked smilied aside, I had a gut feeling I was going to be somewhere near the bottom of those that did qualify so seeing Batidas scrape through pretty much by default is nonetheless pleasing as clearly our biggest support came from SF2.

 

Which makes me wonder how well Batidas would've fared had we been drawn in SF2 instead? :o

Batidas went from scraping through SF1 to ending up 12th. :o

 

Even Gotye finished lower on the scoreboard (by one place but still) and I'm aware this is by default but rules are rules I guess.
