61 College - A Real Hero (Drive Soundtrack) and 66 The Band Perry - If I Die Young!! I wish them to enter in Top 75. The former is amazing song. The first time i listened to "A Real Hero" was 5 months ago. I watched "Drive" at the cinema and this song woke me up..

I've heard quite a few people talking about the charts at school actually.

I had a few times, but it was rare. Considering that music was probably the main topic of conversation, it's strange that the charts were mentioned so little, come to think of it.

I heard them mentioned more in the last few years of school, but I found a very common mistake was people thinking the top 10 on iTunes was the official top 10, which resulted in people saying stupid things. Like when Pass Out was released I heard a few people commenting that they can't believe Tinie finally got a #1, and I always wanted to explain to them that he won't actally be #1 until Sunday.

So if Sean Paul gets to #1 on iTunes, I bet there'll be some people out there who'll log into iTunes and think he's the official #1. :drama:

I'm not surprised JLS aren't doing too well. 'Proud' is as dull as dish water, if i'm honest.
It would be amazing if Jay-Z/Kanye can get back in the top 10. Prove to everyone that it deserved to be there.
It certainly wouldn't to me. <_<

[2], although I'm sure I've made that feeling VERY clear. :P

Well Katy Perry was already thanking the UK for getting 'Part of Me' to #1 on Monday before her Live Lounge set - so it seems either her management missed out the word 'iTunes' or she doesn't know the difference between the iTunes chart and the official one in the UK.

#1 on iTunes doesn't mean anything - so it's funny for people to make assumptions based on it. If #1 on iTunes were anything to go by then T-Pain's '5 O'clock' and Lady Gaga's 'The Edge of Glory' would've been #1s - so glad the former only peaked at #6!

I'm so glad the latter only peaked at #6. :kink:

I still can't believe 5 O'Clock got to #1 on iTunes though. I really like that song, but it's just so weird for so many reasons.

I think most artists don't follow their chart positions or the like in the way we do, they know what they're told. I imagine a busy worldwide popstar like Katy Perry has better things to do than keep track of her UK chart positions.

The only times I've ever discussed the charts with my friends has been about Adele and how she's back at number one, or how she phenomenal she's been this year.

I dunno, she hasn't really done much this year! ^_^

What i've noticed is that whenever a song gets released on itunes on a Sunday and goes to number 1 on the same day it always debuts at number 1 on the official chart the following Sunday. So it looks like Katy Perry will continue the tradition this Sunday.

Well she has the top selling album of the year again, so far...

I reckon she could actually go all the way and get the highest-selling album of 2012 in the US. Not sure about the UK, but in the US, she's already sold so much, I can't really see anything overtaking her.

Thriller by Michael Jackson is the only other album to be year-end #1 in 2 different years.

Elton John managed two consecutive years but he did it with 2 different albums. And 50 Cent also managed two years with two different albums, with only one year inbetween (2004).

Yes, I think so.

I didn't like her video. I'm not into war movies/videos :(

However, she's beautiful there with short hair.

The video was the boost she needed to beat Sean Paul this week by 10k+
