A Jamaican-born rapper of mixed heritage, dancehall singer Sean Paul is part of a proud lineage in Jamaican music that includes, among others, Buju Banton, Super Cat, and Shabba Ranks. Sean Paul began toasting and releasing albums in the late 1990s, and by the early 2000s, thanks to the release of his 2002 album DUTTY ROCK, he had become the most popular dancehall star in the world. He has since collaborated with a diverse host of pop stars such as Rihanna, Jay-Z, and Daddy Yankee, and in 2004 Sean Paul won a Grammy for Best Reggae artist in 2004 and was Billboard's top-selling reggae artist in 2005. - HMV

Woo for Katy Perry getting her first decent #1 I guess but I'm more happy about Sean Paul inexplicably matching his previous best ('Breathe' aside) :D

Edited by Bréyhound

Katy Perry's third UK number 1 single.

2008-2010-2012

This really is the anti-Moves Like Jagger, it seems to be avoiding the no.2 spot at all costs.

I was gonna say that. :P Quite weird how it's just totally missed #2 each week.

(23) You Me At Six-The Swarm

Typical britpop from them, nothing good

I haven't liked this era for them. Its been very dull.

Katy Perry's third UK number 1 single.

2008-2010-2012

Teenage Dream not getting there was a travesty. Her best song.

Do You Remember by Jay Sean ft. Sean Paul & Lil Jon charted in 2009 and peaked at #13 I think.

Nice to see Larry's pic each week. :D

Had forgotten about that - I have signatures switched off! Will maybve update it with the signed photo he sent me...

Congrats to both Sean Paul and Katy Perry for the number 2 and 1 singles.

See you next week guys ;)

WTF @ censoring "off" in "break it off"

Yeah but that was a different Sean Paul as far as I know, wasn't he?

Yeah but that was a different Sean Paul as far as I know, wasn't he?

Nope I'm wrong it was him, we add this to his chart history.

another number 2 for Sean Paul then - I'd not have expected that  She Doesn't Mind is quite good though, so much better than So Fine so deserves to do better

Part of Me is good too, so yeah, I'm pleased with this outcome :P

I haven't liked this era for them. Its been very dull.

Love "Bite My Tongue", "Loverboy" is an inferior remake of "Underdog" IMO. They're definitely getting more consistent for me.

And I'm quite liking Katy Perry's symmetrical chart toppers with her first, middle and last releases.

Yeah but that was a different Sean Paul as far as I know, wasn't he?

I'm pretty sure it's the same one! :o I listened to the song the other day.

EDIT: Sorry, I seen your other post. Thank you. :)

Read above!

He definitely sounds like he's saying "I'm an enema"

It does a bit

It definitely was the Jamaican 'Shona Pol' 'dutty egg' Sean Paul on 'Do You Remember' :P

However there was a different Sean Paul in the chart once - featuring on Cherish's 'Do It To It', #30 in 2006.
