I think it's a pretty good idea! Would be a lot easier to find iTunes threads from before, and I do love a bit of structure :kink:

It's unlikely to, and the odd thread going over 1000 doesn't really affect the site (BUZZR8 went over 200 and nothing bad happened).

I would consult someone on the Admin panel. I know that one occasional thread going over 1000 isn't going to be bad but if it can potentially happen every month...

What actually IS the reasoning beside 1000 being the limit? Can the server not handle long threads or something?
I think it's a good idea - mainly for the reason that is really focuses the attention of each thread on the iTunes chart for THAT week - rather than for 2/3 weeks, depending on how much discussion goes on during the month. Also makes it a lot easier, as people have said, to search for iTunes information of particular songs +/or particular chart weeks.
Emminantly wise idea- Starting from this sunday I say!

Conveniently this Sunday is the first day of a month as well so the switch nicely appeases my OCD

But whenever a Sunday begins the month it means we have a Friday 13th in that month :(

I don't really see how the rush to create the new thread is much of a problem, and if we were to have weekly threads at least it's far clearer WHEN you're supposed to be creating it.

Exactly. :D

WOO at me contributing a good idea to Buzzjack. :cheer: :P

Its now a race for a new thread every Saturday, better book my time for 00:01

All we need is a booking thread for members to sign up for which week :heehee:

Imagine if you had an iTunes Chart thread that lasted forever

No, it cannot, so having regular threads over 1000 posts is a NO.

I am all for the weekly iTunes thread, btw!

I agree this is a great idea - for archive purposes first and foremost, it would be much easier to find the old threads for reasons of comparison etc.
Perhaps we could do a trial run to see how it works for one week. If it proves successful then I don't see any reason why this couldn't continue as normal.

Trial it for a month with only chart Mods creating it and see how it goes.

That way we can be sure that:

a) the Kworb / pob bars links work.

b) we won't end up with a scenario where 3 members create threads at 00:01 and posting occurs across all three

c) the previous thread is shut at midnight.
