No way will it go to #1 with Carly's lead. Maybe #2 unfortunately.

They're both cover versions but Marcus' cover of SNA is decent at the very least. Alyssa's cover of 'Alone' is just shockingly dull. I know many have beef with Marcus covering such rock royalty (PAHA!) but I've never been able to understand why Alyssa is so loved. Her song is just all shades of bad.

So good to hear that 'Boyfriend' release has been brought forward to Sunday! I can't get enough of the song now, who'd have thought Justin Bieber would mature so well or make a song that I'd like! Crazy! Number 1 next week anyone?

It makes Bré sad that 'Boyfriend' will almost certainly chart higher than the brilliant 'Climax'.

Tulisa's song is could "Young", so they can't be.

 

To be honest, I bet a lot of people still think Tulisa's song is called 'We Are Young', as it was called that for ages before. Check on Youtube, Google, etc. They only changed the title a couple of weeks ago (I know the fakes on iTunes aren't for Tulisa's song, but I'm just saying :lol:).

 

I haven't heard Boyfriend yet. Everybody keeps saying he's grown so much, etc, but from the title that sounds like quite a childish song to me. :lol:

I kind of agree with you Gaz, but I guess the new material and the US success with it means it has a chance of doing very well.

I'm sorry but 'Boyfriend' isn't a really good song. It's pants!! Whether it was Justin Bieber or Leona Lewis singing it, it would be a terrible record with terrible lyrics.

'Boyfriend' is INCREDIBLE. As is 'Climax'. I'd be happy with either (or preferably both) of them overtaking 'Call Me Maybe', which I find rather vomit-inducing.

I can appreciate CMM for what it is now. It's not supposed to be a great song. It's supposed to be rather comedic I believe.

I remember I read an interview of the producer where he talked about the song and said it's "electro-soul" or something, so I was thinking to myself "So it's Usher club banger #234" and thankfully I was wrong about that. :lol:

 

It was like Someone Like You when I first heard it, in that it seemed strange how broken down and simplistic the instrumental sounded, but I think it's best that way to be honest.
