I spy one of Kate Bush's best songs 'This Woman's Work'

The Voice?

 25. This Woman's Work (Uncut) - Maxwell

 27. This Woman's Work - Kate Bush

Kate just seems to be inheriting Maxwell's previous position with each update  #25 next update then?

The Voice?

Nope, Britain's Got Talent. Slightly outshined by The Voice placing a performed track in the top 3 though

I'm not sure whether it's true but apparantly The Voice beat BGT last weekend in its ratings war. Overnight figures suggested that The Voice was increasing week on week whilst the opposite was happening with BGT.

Well what do you expect when "you can't find your keys or your mobile phone" gets through to the next stages of the competition? I really think BGT has lost the plot and needs to accept it's not 2008 anymore.

BGT is not going head to head as from next week, its been shifted to half an hour later.

John legend is alright too, he's no Kate Bush though!

Seriously side eyeing the british public at buying Birdy and not Bonny Bear.

Seriously though the chart is going to be interesting this coming week, with Kate Bush, John Legend plus all the new releases.
OMG @ Ordinary People :o It was a pretty good performance that said. Good to see Kate Bush is in the top 30 as well, even though the Maxwell version is horribly overrated. I was hoping It's Raining Men would be back in the top 100 because of the Showbears, but whatever :kink:
129. Adele - Turning Tables

Wow. Used as background music again?

I heard it on Britain's Got Talent for a reasonable amount of time. :(

This womans work just slaaaaaaaaaaays me, it's one of my all-time favourites. So i am FURIOUS it's been used on BGT!   Same with Iris on X factor last year and Hallelujah a couple of years before, i've loved these songs for years already thank you! I don't want morons jumping on the bandwagon <_<

I don't know why this sort of thing annoys me so much...

Don't you like the song? :( I'm happy it sells so consistently like this. Must be over 50,000 sales by now.

"Collide" #944 after it was used on BGT. Nice to see it back in the top 1000

I'm really loving all these big boosts to great songs thanks to the voice

Jason Mraz "I Won't Give Up" to #13. It always seems to benefit from the weekend effect. I just hope it can get to the top 10 of itunes at some point. Loving how consistent it's being though.

Oops. Sorry for double post, was by accident. Is there any way to delete your posts?

It's alright. I only feel compelled to listen to it when I'm listening to a live performance of it though. (same with Someone Like You if I'm honest).

LaserLight  9

Sway  10

Maxwell  22

Birdy's  33 and 83

No offence, but I just can't even begin to understand that point of view. Just because you like a song, you don't think anyone else should be allowed to like it? So, if it being used on a show brings it to a new audience that has never heard of it before, making them download the original version, therefore bringing it a lot more recognition, that's a bad thing?

Personally, This Woman's Work is a song I'd heard years ago, loved it and actually completely forgot about it. Now, it's made me rediscover it and love it all over again. I can't see the negative in that situation.

Just because you heard it before someone else, you think that means you're entitled to some exclusivity over it? Surely you don't actually think like that?

Oh, and just because this has made me go and download the song today certainly doesn't make me a moron, thanks very much.
