I agree about Stupid Hoe. I really think that song was taken a bit too seriously by some people. Not all her songs have to be deep and meaningful like Moment 4 Life.

I definitely hated at first, but it's just so much fun! And the video now makes complete sense too.

No chance with Justin Bieber and Usher released this week. :( Although maybe he will climb above Carly once she loses her "number one effect" and then Justin will hopefully plummet throughout the week. I get the feeling Justin will be quite secure though. :(

I have soo much love for this song still. This and Got 2 Luv U, are two of my favourite songs of this year (though the first was released a while back, i only 'discovered' it this year). :wub:

'Call Me Maybe' is a great song, not the sort of thing I'd usually like but I can appreciate great pure pop songs and this is one of them.

 

However, I'm more than a little bit annoyed that she's prevented Sean Paul from getting the #1 he would have got had she not released early. I now understand how T Boy felt about Moves Like Jagger being denied a seemingly certain #1 by We Found Love's early release... :drama:

No shocker then but congrats to Carly Rae Jepsen! Like Alyssa Reid, I'm not convinced that she'll be anything more than a one hit wonder. The same goes for fun. and Gotye, but it's nice to see radio supporting songs based on their individual strength rather than how well known the artist is, or is likely to become. It really does look like 2012 is destined to be the year of the one hit wonder though.

I could maybe see Some Nights being cherrypicked a lot when fun. release their album, so they might get another chart entry at least.
