I did have a feeling iTunes would reduce 'Hey, Soul Sister' fairly soon. With those 2 versions both so high I'd imagine they must be ahead of The Killers combined and could be heading for a third top 40 hit this year? :P I see 'Drive By' is still climbing as well, I'd love this to eventually go top 5 but at least it looks like it'll be comfortably top 10 for some time now.

Annoying that Flux Pavilion is now dropping having only made it into the iTunes top 40 for maybe a few hours max. He'll probably miss the official top 40 now :( On the other hand James Vincent McMorrow still looking goos for a top 40 re-entry at the moment.

Id say its a bit of both, shes a really popular celebrity in the uk right now and so that usually coincides with a successful chart career and the song is radio friendly but nothing different i suppose!

Considering it isn't allowed to be played on TV, had very little radio support (besides Radio 1), is about the London riots and government and is a soundtrack to an unreleased movie, i'd say it done pretty well to get to #6.

 

It done better than 'Proud' anyways.

Starships has exceeded my expectations its been a huge hit for her, its spent 10 weeks in the top 10 although i think Marina should kick it out this week not unless it can somehow overtake Conor Maynard on Sunday.
